VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Smelter — 4 innings, 3 hits, no runs, no walks, in less than 50 pitches.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 We might have some quality middle inning relief guys in these rookies here
TNTwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Send Cave down after the game. Bring up Jay Davis. Cave has been disappointing this season when in Minnesota.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Buxton suddenly feels much better tomorrow, Cave sent down
Utah Twins Fan Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Jake Cave is trying to take out Rosario only way he may get back onto the field after his horrible play tonight! Needs to sent packing ASAP ! Hurry back Buxton please!
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Am I greedy to want an Arraez double so he can't get doubled off to end the inning?
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Why can’t we have someone like Kahnle?Pfft! We have Trevor May!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Kahnle’s whip is a hair lower than rogers’
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I don't see anyone warming up in the Twins pen, Smeltzer for the 9th
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Damn, Kahnle is basically unhittable tonight.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Devin is making a strong case to be the #5 starter next season.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Devin is making a strong case to be the #5 starter next season. Or next week, honestly
Bandit34 Provisional Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Smeltzer is making a strong case to be our ONLY starter next season.
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Maybe we shouldn't start 2 players with the same first name in the same game, again. Today, players named Jake were clearly cursed.
DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Devin is making a strong case to be the #5 starter next season. #2 if he can shut the Yankees down like this
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Gonzalez and Schoop K on 6 pitches. Rookie with 150 MLB at bats sees 7 and puts it in play. And that’s all I have to say about that.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 #2 if he can shut the Yankees down like this# 1
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 # 1#0. They just declare a Twins win when he's in the lineup.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 102 pitches in four innings for Odorizzi. 49 pitches in four innings for Smeltzer.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Has Smeltzer quick-pitched Encarnacion four times yet? Because that's totally what he should do.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 What this series has taught me is that the twins need to avoid playing the Yankees in the playoffs. Their offense can hit right along with ours and barring some big signings, their pitching, especially late inning relief, is better. We could steal a win or possibly 2, but I can’t believe we’d be favored to take a series.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Wonder what the move will be after tonights game? Almost certain Smeltzer will be sent down after throwing 50 pitches, but who knows. Ian Krol maybe? He has MLB experience, although he isn't on the 40 man. Poppen is on the 40 man, as is Romero, but he threw 3 innings tonight. No way he is recalled. Moya and Poppen haven't thrown since monday, Krol threw 13 tonight.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 You guys jinxed Smeltzer, own what you did.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Marrs a great performance because it’s a dagger
