This one's on the offense again.  If Polanco comes through with the bases juiced and/or they do anything in that top of the 8th with 2 on and 1 out, they get to the bullpen with a lead to close it out.  Berrios did exactly what he needed to do tonite other than 2 bad pitches that ended up in the seats.

Welp. It ain't over yet, of course, but...

 

After that 18 inning meat grinder, in which the offense chose to take the evening off, and in view of our last couple of weeks, I would have been surprised with a series win this weekend against an up-and-coming Sox club. (And that was a helluva sentence to type,with teeth gnashing as they were).

 

A gorgeous Saturday morning here, so other stuff to do, but checked in to this game- and a couple of questions I'm sure others share:

1) I know Polanco is the AL batting leader- but why is it every time I see him at bat, I never see a hit? Do those only come in day games which happen at 2AM over here?

2) Could we get anything out of a package that includes Schoop, and just go ahead and anoint Arraez the regular 2B?

3) Pieces in the minors- Wiel, and one of Rooker/Raley/Larnach/Gordon? And I'm not talking for MadBum, either.

This doesn't change the fact that striking out at a 50% clip is not acceptable, even with some HRs. I'll tolerate a lower level of strikeouts for more contact.

Ugh. A frustrating loss, but aren't they all frustrating?

 

One of the biggest factors in the loss tonight in my opinion was the two errors by Adrianza - they lead to 3 unearned runs, costing us the game.
