The plate ump should be required to defer automatically to the first base ump on the check swings. He has been going to first for the call several times this game all on his own, but with Sano..... and it was no swing. Maybe a strike, anyway? Looks like it.

Yup, and we probably won't remember this game when we're playing in September and into October. This isn't football - a bad loss isn't a season ender - and we're 25 games over .500 and we have room to lose a few. I'll only start worrying if we see bad trends develop... right now the only major issue I see with this team is the bullpen. The sloppy defense and bad RISP are likely just blips on the radar.

Yeah it's gonna happen many more times this year to the Twins, Yankees, Astros, and Dodgers. Just the way it is.

 

Avoid big losing streaks, win the series you should, etc. Overall the Twins will be happy with the start of this homestand taking 2 of 3 (if they don't rally in the 9th). Plenty to improve upon for this team but it's nice to have a 10 game lead while you're working on those improvements.

I don't understand all the negativity in here. Sure, we're gonna lose. We won the series, and haven't lost a series in a hot minute. Sure, we didn't play real clean this week, but that is how baseball works. It's a long season. Won't be the last time we go through a poor stretch. What we have seen is a bunch of relentless play from the offense. This team has the best record in the MLB people. Stop getting down on them.

Would be great to see Rocco just go out and argue once. The guy is a push over and continues to remind me of a millennial.
