Heads up play by the Twins!

Way to run yourselves out of an inning, KC!

Astudillo and Adrianza playing their way into more ABs, while Austin seems to be solidifying his last spot on the bench. He's the first to go when Sano returns I'm guessing.

BTW, anyone else not feeling too excited about Sano right about now? I'm not sure a .215 hitter who strikes out 30% of the time is going to help this lineup. I guess we'll just wait and see. But the Twins don't look like they need him right now.

I think most of us here, and in the Twins organization, are confident that Sano will hit better than .215 when he returns.  If he does, he will not be long for the 25 man roster.

However, what if you get first half of 2017 Sano?  That makes this lineup extremely dangerous.

Great defense by the Twins that inning. Polanco's play was outstanding, but don't forget Gibson's great defensive play as well. I've always thought he should be considered for a Gold Glove.

If you inserted Sano into yesterday's lineup, he'd have the 2nd-highest career OBP in the batting order (slightly behind Cruz). And he can occasionally hit home runs, as well.

Perception is impacted by expectations, no?

I was thinking how this team does not miss Sano, when a poster mentioned his name. Almost as if he is not needed......and Buxton already down with a stupid run into the wall. Kinda of feeling as both are never going to live up to all the expectations. Makes me sad, but Twins as they are, are looking GREAT!

How long will Astudillo keep his BA higher than his OBP?

And will either dip below .400?

I will have to review the fine print...

On base percentages can be greater than batting averages because a walk will raise one' obp but not the average...

Remind me what can make the average higher than obp? does a homer count as a hit without leaving ya on base?

Bad inning from Gibby here. C'mon Gibby, what are you doing walking Hamilton, man?

Sacrifices.  They count as PA's (which is what OBP is based on), but not AB's.
