I thought West made the right call and I really don't like Boston.

I also don't like creding Joe West with doing something right, but I think the call was the right one.  When it comes to fan interference, I'd rather lean towards being overprotective.

I feel inclined to give Price credit for a good start, after ripping on him for his other starts. Still want nothing to do with him if he opts out this offseason though.

I went to bed with the Astros trailing 4-1. Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning. I mean, I'm a Twins fan - so imagine my surprise at two bullpens throwing zeroes for the final two innings.

Re-imagine it as two offenses putting up zeros for the final two innings, and the surprise will be gone quicker than a Buxton AB.

Oh, come on people - the Brewers have never won. All baseball fans deserve some excitement. I'm a Twins fan, I know something about suffering.  :lol:

I believe today's game is the second time in this series the Dodgers have had over 100 HRs on the bench to start the game.

Astounding.

Game 7 NLCS Circus Boy update: Dodgers 2-1, end 5th

Highlights:

Dodgers 2nd baseman Taylor just made an outstanding catch in left field to rob the Brewers of a run;

In the 1st, Machado bunts for a hit on 3-2 count, followed by Bellinger HR;

Hader pitches 3rd to 5th innings, removed for pinch hitter in bottoms of fifth. I guess I’m on the record saying Hader should have had the opportunity to pitch a couple more innings (prep post)

Not an instant classic, but a pretty good game so far.

inexplicable pitching change decisions

Maybe Counsell will be interviewing for the Twins manager opening tomorrow

Hosken out

That's literally how they got this far. The Twins would be lucky to have this kind of manager.

Disagree. If he pulls this crap with Hildenberger instead of Hader he is just Molitor.

In my opinion every single manager in the postseason has basically done a great job of "Can you top this" for idiotic pitching staff management.

They are all just looking for guys that will fail instead of sticking with a guy who is pitching well.

That bullpen and how he used them is how they got this far from day one this year. I don't know how that is even arguable. Were the decisions correct in all 172 or so games? Probably not, but I'd take him over molitor.

Which of Counsell's decisions have been inexplicable? The only one that stands out to me is that he kept trusting Jeffress, although I guess he did come through in game 6.

Yes, trusting Jeffress in that spot. I wouldn’t call pitching a scoreless inning with a 3-run lead “coming through” considering his disastrous post-season, but fine.

Then having Hader already in and out of the game by the end of the fifth inning is regrettable, if you ask me.

The Brewers lost me with their decision in game 5 to deceive LA by starting Miley for 1 batter. I'm glad they lost tonight. They don't deserve to go to the WS.
