Looks like the Dodgers went with a righty-heavy lineup for LHP Gonzalez, so now RHP Woodruff gets to face a lot of righty batters. Or the Dodgers have to start pinch-hitting, which they already did (Muncy for Freese), but that will leave them vulnerable if the Brewers switch to another LHP like Hader (who has already started warming), or if they just want to pinch hit for their own pitchers.

Very much not traditional SP usage, but very interesting nonetheless!

Woodruff's spot comes up again, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and nobody out. Brewers pinch hit Domingo Santana, who promptly delivers a 2 run single, knocking Kershaw out of the game with the Brewers leading 4-1 in the 4th.

Counsell is looking pretty good this game so far!

Yeah, and that was a perfect spot to let a pitcher try to lay a bunt down, and save the substitution. But, hey, he's pressin' the right buttons tonight.

Edit: face palm, it was runners on 1st and 2nd but there was a passed ball, so 2nd and 3rd is not really a bunting situation :)

...Double edit - double face palm: the runners advanced on a fielding error on the batted ball of the previous hitter. I'm following the game but multitasking too. I'll shut up now.

Not impressed by Machado "Cadillac-ing" it to first, not just once but twice in this game. Post-season should be 100% effort 100% of the time. He's gonna get paid, but I am not a fan.

Home plate umpire is having a solid game. Completely in line with the Fox tracker, and getting no arguments from players.

that was hard to believe....

What a doofus. Either he had a real 'deer in headlights' moment or he just can't react and move very quickly. Although looking at it in slo-mo made it look worse ... but still ... what a doofus. Thankfully it didn't affect the outcome of the game.

Never would've guessed with that physique of his.

And what a surprise, David Price is sucking it up in the post season some more.

Hey, his team got the win! Although he came up 1 out short of qualifying for the "win" himself.

I'm sure it was mentioned a lot during the broadcast, but for those like me who didn't watch last night, it's worth noting that prior to yesterday, Price's teams were 0-10 in his postseason starts. Now up to 1-10!

Those that like starting pitchers going deep into games: the Dodgers let SP Buehler bat for himself, with a runner on 2nd and 1 out in the 5th, down 1-0.

He struck out, and proceeded to give up a run in the 6th, and 2 more in the 7th. Dodgers down 4-0 at the moment.

Buehler at 100 pitches through 7, due up 4th in the bottom of the inning, so I imagine he is done for the night.
