Except we have a rightie who needs reps at 1B against right-handers as well.

 

I will be so glad when the day comes that we don't have a glut at 1B and DH and bad OF all trying to shoehorn into two lineup spots. It might leave room for a catcher to get an extra day in the lineup.

Indeed. The debate over which .700-range OPS guy to DH or play 1B on a given day gets a little old. I wouldn't object as much to a glut of "corner/DH types" if the problem was which .900 OPS to rest that day.

Want to say Garver played LF, but not sure I'm correct. Agree Austin should be in there daily as DH or 1B. But I like Garver getting a chance to play again before the season is done, and he's obviously not going to catch. And with Mauer possibly playing his last games, doubt he's going to sit.

.700 would have been good this year.

DH, 15 HR 55 RBI .233 Ave. .676 Ops

1B, 12 HR 62 RBI .256 Ave. .682 Ops

 

They gave Palka away and he has 27 HR and an Ops of .776, who knew?

When I saw the title for this game thread I thought it was for Saturday's game because that game does indeed start at 7:10 PM EDT, 9/29/2018 AD. And then I noticed the star indicating I has posted to the thread so I knew something was amiss. Obviously I didn't notice last night that the title was inaccurate.
