I think what i like about it is that the primary pitcher no longer has to go 5 innings to earn the win...

Just a little statistical thing.

We can't expect to get it right the first time, can we?

Anyway, still got it muted in the back ground. I might do something else though...

And i was remembering this quote... Not sure how applicable it is...

"Littell beat big if Littell is smart.

First with the the head, then with the heart."

Just dropped by to say again...not very impressed with a front office that provides Gimenez, Belisle and Field on Sep 1.

And I've never been impressed with Molitor, so today's lineup doesn't surprise me at all. Disgusts me, but doesnt surprise me.

I doubt Molitor is a fan of the Buxton decision. He may not like the opener role.

Could this lineup be a statement to the front office? He gave the least possible chance to win on a day where the Buxton decision and the opener are in the spot light.

If it is a message, it may be one that gets him fired.

Not going to bother watching this game, but was just stopping to make a comment about this putrid lineup. If it was a spring game, they’d get fined for not bringing enough starters.

I think it’s possible that this organization might be in big trouble. Pitching is a mess: Berrios concerns me.

Gonsalves has been a huge disappointment. IMO, pitching has regressed under this pitching coach.

And now this lineup today- I’d almost say Molitor had huge money on the Rangers. I’m outta here.

Agreed. Inconceivable.

My thoughts on the Buxton debacle:

-Buxton has every right to be angry. If he feels there is a gain to filing a grievance, he should.

-It is not a good look, at surface level, on the front office.

-This probably ruins any chance the Twins ever have at extending Buxton.

HOWEVER,

-Buxton already turned down an extension in the offseason.

-If he ever becomes the star everyone thinks he can be, a large-market team will snatch him up faster than the Twins could even say "Buxton."

-Shirking is not in Buxton's best interest. He can't take his frustrations out on the field. That hurts him and his wallet in the long-run.

-Given that, I would imagine that the Front Office, who, believe it or now, knows more than we do, weighed the costs and benefits of the situation and determined it was more beneficial to keep Buxton for an extra year given that he may be signing elsewhere anyway.

Derek Falvey has an Economics degree. It would be foolish to think that he and the rest of the front office did not weigh costs and benefits.

I genuinely cannot recall a ****tier lineup in any game that I've ever seen in my entire life.

I for one am SHOCKED that this Murderer’s Row lineup hasn’t dented the scoreboard.

Anyone else have the feeling that this is Molitor’s way of publicly saying “This is what I have to work with gang”?

Based on how bad his lineups have been during his tenure regardless of what he has to work with, I'm not quite sure what to think

I think we've seen enough of Duffey to DFA him. Let's get some other fresh arms up from AAA and watch them spectacularly fail instead.

It's hard to believe this team is only 9 games below .500, but they have had one of the easiest schedules in all of baseball, so I guess that's what explains it.

That's what can happen when you have 3 other teams in your division that are 55-82, 54-82, and 44-91.

And the guy with the 7.71 ERA comes in the "restore some balance to the inning"
