Those were some nice at bats. The Eddies look like Vlad Guerrero in his prime making contact with anything.

Was watching on the AtBat app, and 3 of the pitches looked like a 40 inch bat wouldn't have reached it

Why didn't they let Astudillo catch?! Why did they bother to have him put on the gear and have Wilson give him tips if they intended to have Garver catch? It's odd how they won't let him catch...

I agree. But the fact that Astudillo has not caught the whole time he's been up is on MoY, too.

 

Just... inexplicable.

 

So, of course we play him in CF, and 2B, where he's never played before, either.

I think Garver over Astilludillo is a wise move.

 

Running Cave for Wilson tied the game because no way Wilson makes it home on that play.

Well I agree with the pinch runner. I am neutral on the catching decision. I do want to see Astudillo before the season ends; it shouldn't matter who is catching here in the 9th if Rodney does what he's paid to do.

Without checking, I'm going to go out on a limb and say TK probably had Brian Harper pinch hit for Junior Ortiz and Lenny Webster a few times too.

It should be very obvious by now that he wasn’t brought up to catch...and the Twins took some very specific steps immediately prior to calling him up that should have given that away...he was not playing catcher at all over a significant number of Rochester games immediately before being called up. Meanwhile, he’s been Richester’s best hitter (not saying much) pretty much all year.

I guess this is the logical conclusion when you face a reliever with a 12.34 ERA. Too bad Blaine Boyer's on the DL!! (he has an ERA of 11.76)

8.5 back is very doable, especially against a team we will see a few more times this summer
