Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Garver is just... not good behind the plate. glunn 1

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Author Posted May 26, 2018 Great outing by Romero, but he has a flashing "TAKE ME OUT!! I'M COOKED!!" sign blinking above his headYou forgot "SEAFOOD" in the middlehttp://www.mariesseafood.com/images/sign.jpg glunn, ashbury and Hosken Bombo Disco 3
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Applause for romero DocBauer, glunn, Hosken Bombo Disco and 3 others 6
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Very nice outing from Romero. Not much hard contact, no XBH allowed. Hopefully the offense can pick it up and get us a dub DocBauer, glunn, Danchat and 3 others 6
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Yep. Only 80 pitches though. Hope he can get 1 more inningGood call. Turn it over to Reed/bullpen now. Riverbrian 1
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Well done, Fernando. Too bad you had that small bout of wildness late in the 6th.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Author Posted May 26, 2018 I doubt he comes out for the 7th You'll keep trying right? Hosken Bombo Disco 1
gil4 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Sano was not in the top 5 players who I would want to make that catch. He was exactly number 5 for me, if you mean of those who had a realistic chance to catch it. (Garver was #6) Platoon, Riverbrian and glunn 3
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Damn you Twins! (Sorry Brian). I should be going to bed but you keep sucking me back in! (Loose Godfather 3 reference). Can't we just score a couple of runs in the top of the 8th so I can go to bed with dreams of past winning years of Hrbek dancing around the diamond with a tutu? Riverbrian and glunn 2

glunn Community Moderator Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Garver is just... not good behind the plate. When I coached little league we had a Dodgers' pitcher come teach all of the coaches about how to teach kids how to pitch. He asked for volunteers to catch him and my hand went up first. Later he told me that he was throwing "only" about 80 MPH. To me it seemed a lot faster. Catching is not easy. DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Anyone else think this Romero kid has a chance to stick? Hosken Bombo Disco, GameDay, Dozier's Glorious Hair and 2 others 5
twins_89 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 MLB Network talking about how Hanley Ramirez would fit in with the Twins. I wouldn't mind it. If the concussion like symptoms that Mauer is having look like they might keep him out for an extended stretch I could see Ramirez as being a good option (on a minimum contract, not claimed off waivers). glunn and Riverbrian 2
GameDay Provisional Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Not the nicest thing to say but Robbie Grossman is almost worthless to this team. He really provides nothing of value other then just being an extra body.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Author Posted May 26, 2018 MLB Network talking about how Hanley Ramirez would fit in with the Twins. I wouldn't mind it. Normally, the flags are red enough to pass but the Twins do need to consider the possibility as Right Hander insurance in case Sano and Buxton don't snap out of it. glunn 1
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 (edited) I agree with the signing of Hanley if Mauer is in fact out for a while. He is a RHB that would be worth it on the league min. Crazy to see how the mighty have fallen. I remember back around 2008 my dad said the only player he would pick up the phone for on a Joe Mauer trade is Hanley. Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2018 Author Posted May 26, 2018 Why not PH LoMo for Robbie here? I was gonna say. "To save him for Buxton" but now I can see the hole in my theory with Buxton at the plate. glunn 1
