And it was classic Gardy. Kicking the dirt on home plate, cussing up a storm, looking completely beside himself, etc.

 

And the best part was he was tossed for arguing with the guy who called his player safe at home plate but was overruled by New York.

I think if you could read lips, it went something like this:

 

"That's a horse bleep call. You can't take a run away from my guy like that."

"Ron, the replay call was made in New York."

"I know it was made in New York. Fornicate New York."

"Beyond my pay grade."

"Come on. Make the right call, right now."

"You know I can't do that."

"Overturn the overturn."

"Not in the rules."

"Then throw me out of the game. I need to fire up my guys."

"You ain't done nothing out of line. Now, if you were to refer to my mother..."

"See this dirt I am kicking? I kicked it on your mother last night."

"She's deceased."

"Oh. Sorry. I knew that."
"No prob. I kind of set you up, on that."

"Anyway.... are we good here?"

"My pleasure. Is this ejection gesture to your liking?"
"It's gosh darn swell."

"OK, see you next game."

"Unless you wanna catch a quick bite first, at this place Miggy told me about."

"Let's see how long extra innings take."

"If my bullpen holds them scoreless in the eleventh, see what you can do."

That slide by Castellanos was atrocious. Little Leaguers slide better than that! What professional baseball player slides with his knees bent? The object is to stick your foot out to touch the plate before you're tagged! So glad Castellanos and Gardenhire don't work for the Twins.

Little-known fact: Bobby Cox is still technically the Braves manager, he is just ceremoniously ejected at the start of every game.

Throwing a tantrum like a spoiled child, ESPECIALLY towards an umpire that didn't even make the call, is pathetic, IMO.

I remain on the fence about Molitor, but the fact that he doesn't pull childish garbage like this is definitely a plus for him in my book.

 

And, not apologizing after the fact, and in fact seemingly taking pride in it, makes it even worse. Again, IMO.
