70charger Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 I probably just jinxed it, didn't I?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 What the heck was maybin doing? Could be a turning point
70charger Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Wow, Kepler saves the day with a literal Superman move.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 What the heck was maybin doing? Could be a turning pointEither listening to his idiot third base coach or ignoring his wise third base coach.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Did we just get tricked by a little league play?
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I like them, too, because my best mate is from there. We met teaching at a school in Guangzhou- he grew up in Brighton, and played "Bah-sket-bawl." He was quite good, too. I'm a Yank who (still- against nature, lack of both size and speed, and professional medical advice) plays rugby. We figured we must have been switched at birth. Besides, how can you not like a team with 2 names like that- actually 2 1/2- "AND Hove Albion." I like that part. I think that Hove and Brighton are kind of twin cities. Anyone for Minneapolis and St. Paul Twins?
spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Did we just get tricked by a little league play?Yes.
Darius Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 That's a bad run to give up. Story of this team for 20 years.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Wow. Twins apparently were just introduced to the concept of the double steal.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Did we just get tricked by a little league play?Sure did
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 That was really bad. Like really bad
Darius Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 As long as Castro can frame a pitch, rudimentary first and third plays are just gravy, apparently.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 What the heck was maybin doing? Just think how much his former managers wish they had a dollar for every time they thought that.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Sometimes the stolen base is off the catcher, oftentimes it's off the pitcher. On this one, it was off the second baseman.
Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Gladden would have laid out for that foul ball if he was ball boy today.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Let's get some more offense going, now that Escobar has started us.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Sometimes the stolen base is off the catcher, oftentimes it's off the pitcher. On this one, it was off the second baseman. Yup. Twins caught with FISP - Fielders in Sleeping Position.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Parker Bridwell shutting us down tonight, folks. Parker Bridwell.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Still questioning the decision to sit Mauer. That squibber to end the inning with a guy on third hasn't helped me get over.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Yup. Twins caught with FISP - Fielders in Sleeping Position. You know how Dozier would have looked in a Warner Brothers cartoon, once he took that first step to chase the runner from first?http://exiledonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/elmer-fudd21.gif
70charger Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Also, does it seem like Mauer would have made a couple defensive plays at first too?
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Also, does it seem like Mauer would have made a couple defensive plays at first too?Sano made a very nice diving stop of a sharp grounder, earlier. But popups remain one of the weak spots in his game.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Sano made a very nice diving stop of a sharp grounder, earlier. But popups remain one of the weak spots in his game. Fair enough. I've only seen about half the game so far.
Linus Verified Member Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 That double steal was really bad. Neither Castro or Dozier throw well enough to get a guy that fast. He didn't even have to slide. I'm thinking framing is the only thing Castro brings to the table.
