IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 LOLOLOL! Obviously, I'm not Catholic. in response to... I'm pretty sure that no player does that, as I believe you're confusing Ash Wednesday with Good Friday. Warning: The following link has some religion and perhaps a little politics implied, but I found it a very thoughtful essay from someone who I haven't particularly cared for as a TV host -- Tony Reali. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2017/03/04/ive-worn-ash-on-my-head-on-espn-for-16-years-this-year-was-different/?utm_term=.1c0dea72a1f5#comments We now return to your regularly scheduled mayhem. Hope Kepler/Sano drop a few more bombs this weekend and Buxton can actually get a hit that lands further than the infield! Riverbrian 1

nater79a Verified Member Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Almost seems like they're going to have to play through the rain tonight. Tomorrow afternoon doesn't seem that good weather-wise either. Don't think they would want to postpone two games.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 Can't we just take away his Twins shirt, since they lose when he wears it? That is great out of the box thinking. Unfortunately not wearing a Twins shirt doesn't guarantee victory... My shirts only have the power to guarantee losses so I need the opposing teams. Rest assured... I have decided to only wear the Twins shirt on off-days. I'm trying to use my power for good instead of evil. Oldgoat_MN, MN_ExPat, glunn and 1 other 4
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 You call them polo shirts still? I wonder what younger people call them, since Polo isn't really a huge brand anymore.... I call them golf shirts now, not sure why, other than most courses require collared shirts, and collared is more syllables than golf. I've only known them as Polo and when you search for them online they are listed as polo. Golf Shirts? This is the shirt I wear when I golf. ashbury and Dantes929 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2017 Author Posted April 14, 2017 Just curious but if a player is Catholic and goes to mass on Good Friday before the game, do they play the game with the ashes on their forehead? Has anyone ever seen that? The answer is... I haven't seen it but it is possible if the Catholic player doesn't wash his forehead or sweat for 6 weeks. ashbury, Craig Arko, Mike Sixel and 3 others 6

With my schedule and the constant day games so far. I have not watched a full game yet on TV and tonight was going to be the first one. No game tonight would be cruel.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Would it be going out on a limb to forecast a K for Buxton? Or would that seem like too transparent an antijynx?
