I'm glad to see Gibson bounced back to have an efficient second half of the game, even if his WHIP is still up there. Now he just needs to finish strong and get that full 7 or 8 instead of petering out and making a sh-- show of it. Maybe he'll go Randy Johnson and take out the bird that jimbo was talking about!

I liked what Gibson did to Swanson. The rookie fell for Gibson's forte, which is to bend a variety of pitches to get swings outside the zone. Gibson finished the inning with panache... cutter, 2-seam, slider. Swanson got him into clever mode. I'd consider sending him out for the 8th.
