sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Your anti-jinx technique has been perfect in the month of July. Keep up the good work!I am confused. How do you know an anti-jynx worked?
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 About as exciting as you'd expect.Like listening to Tom Kelly in the booth? :-)
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 It makes no sense to me that that padding on OF walls stops about 4 inches or so above the ground. Why not have it go all the way to the dirt? Leaving that gap at the bottom is just asking for dead balls, and even worse, an invite to an injury. It won't work... The ground crew can't get all the dirt out from under the wall that way.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Man, that lady really wants a drink with gladden.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Oh You Mean Mordant Thanks I get it"having the property of fixing colors"??
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 The sound is off on my tv. How is Radke in the booth? They brought him in from the back, like most visitors.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 "having the property of fixing colors"?? No An adhesive substance for binding gold or silver leaf to a surface. It just must be one of those nights.
Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Ooooooooh Kay. Nice sarcasm. My opinion is that I want my two hitter doing everything possible to barrel up the ball including the green light on 3-0. Especially with ducks on the pond.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Nice decision, nice throw, Sano.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 They brought him in from the back, like most visitors. I think the entire staff goes in the same way. Besides Gladden of course. He climbs in through the front window.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Two on, none out. Do you think the Tribe squanders their opportunity?
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Leaving that gap at the bottom is just asking for dead ballsBilateral something something weakness, you are saying? No amount of padding will help. / edit - scooped by aggies7, I'm pretty sure, but oh well
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I can't believe we didn't score a run!Then... You believe we scored a run? Hooray for us!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Easy to see which club is in first.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Two on, none out. Do you think the Tribe squanders their opportunity? The difference between first and last.
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Nice sarcasm. My opinion is that I want my two hitter doing everything possible to barrel up the ball including the green light on 3-0.And my opinion is that when the pitcher can't find the strike zone at all (with pitches all over the place), and it's at 3-0, I wanna make sure he can even get a ball close to the zone before I go swinging. He did it once and then it was way low on pitch 5. Now, if he watches two or three strikes in that situation and strikes out, I'm all over him for that.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 He's like Ritchie Cunningham.http://images.starpulse.com/Photos/pv/Clint%20Howard-9.jpg
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Jimmer and Spike Could both of you tell us a joke Make it clean but make me laugh.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 And my opinion is that when the pitcher can't find the strike zone at all (with pitches all over the place), and it's at 3-0, I wanna make sure he can even get a ball close to the zone before I go swinging. He did it once and then it was way low on pitch 5.So in your opinion, it's an isolated incidence? http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/joe-mauer-swings-away/ This is dated, but still pretty applicable. I believe he's swung 3-0 once this year, for example. Being too predictable is never a good thing. Mauer is too passive at the plate, always has been, and likely always will be.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Bauer's pitch count is getting up there. I bet he doesn't last 10 innings.
jimmer Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 So in your opinion, it's an isolated incidence? Pretty sure I said nothing of the sort. Pretty sure I didn't even imply that. Pretty sure I was talking about that specific plate appearance and nothing more, but keep building that strawman.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 The difference between first and last.About to be 22 games!
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I agree that Mauer is too passive. However, isn't looking 3-0, then walking in front of Sano exactly what we want from anyone on this team? Just unfortunate Sano had a terrible AB, or we'd all have been very happy with Joe's patience.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Man, Duffey is a frustrating pitcher to watch. So many 4 pitch walks, wild pitches...then he'll reel off 9 straight outs
Winston Smith Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 If that's the case... It's quite possible that someone in the front office... over thought it. I didn't know the front office was into thinking let alone over thinking. I thought they used a magic 8 ball.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 About to be 22 games! Yeah but the Indians will have to draft last. The City of Cleveland always get the short end of the stick.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Wow, what a play. Thought he had no chance.
Platoon Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I am confused. How do you know an anti-jynx worked? An anti jinx is like a double negative. So nothing should change. Well except for Tuesday nights when you attend remedial English!
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 All right, who are you, and WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH EDUARDO NUNEZ?
