Kepler:  Most impressive mid season call-up since Kirby, imo.

I'd say he's the most impressive call-up since Sano last year.

My vote is "mad max" not sure why other than his name starts with Max and I like the 1979 & 1981 flicks Mad Max & Mad Max 2.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that he is related to Johannes Kepler... could be wrong though... just thought I remembered seeing it as a footnote somewhere when he was signed.

 

As for projections... Morneau had true power, and he displayed it earlier.  Kepler's power is starting to develop still.  and while I don't see him eclipsing 30 HRs, 20 seems doable as he fills out his frame.  Right now, there's no book on him.  What will be interesting is seeing how he adjusts when pitchers adjust.

I have always been a Kepler fan, but I've never put that projection on him. Kubel was, imo, going to be a star star. I think Kepler will have years like that, but not a career like I expected out of Kubel.

 

But, man, that would be sweet.
