Willihammer Provisional Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Sooo...he just ignores it then? Not his problem?I have no idea what Molitor's doing about the poor fundamentals, if anything. It does seem like something that wouldn't have happened under Gardy or TK but then again, maybe the minor leagues were in better shape during those years. Wouldn't be surprised if there were a bit of both going on.

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 That pitch out worked great!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I don't think we're going to catch many base stealers if we don't throw to second. But I'm not a sabermetrics guy
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Nolasco sounds like something you'd find in a dumpster! Not sure that you aren't that far off.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Oof, may have to go back on YouTube and watch some more twins classics. Dougie M wouldn't have stood for this junk without screaming with a mouthful of chew
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I'm glad those runs were charged to Nolasco!

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 So much for our well rested bullpen!

Wouldn't be surprised if there were a bit of both going on.Gardy was complaining that he was spending too much time teaching fundamentals. They've been eroding for a while.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Is Nolasco still pitching? You mean this season?
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Cleveland about to win their 12th straight. That's half of what the twins have. All year.
Danchat Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Agreed. It plays into the total system failure bit too. They are terrible fundamentally, which is an indictment of the farm system too. A lot of this stuff is mind bogglingly stupid baseball that the skipper doesn't appear to hold anyone accountable for. There's a theme with that. Our best prospects seem to tear up AAA and then immediately flounder in the majors. But regardless of that, there does seem to be problems with their fundamentals in the minors.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 The twins should auction off a roster spot like the Pirates did a few years back with those young men from India.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Tonkin looks like Ted Brogan, the character Will Ferrell played in a classic SNL sketch from the 90s where ball players visit a young boy played by Chris Kattan. Pitches like him too.
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 The Grand Casino story of the game is our pitching sucks!
Blake Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 When Molitor made his trip to the mound, I think he forgot that Nolasco was having trouble executing pitches all night.
Dr. Evil Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I'm glad those runs were charged to Nolasco! Me too. How long does it take them to decide he sucks?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Whatever Smalleys flaws as an announcer, he can match Bremer's magnificent gift for understatement note for note when critiquing the Twins: "The Twins just are not playing the game crisply tonight..." http://preview.turbosquid.com/Preview/2014/07/10__06_24_11/RottenApple2chk247.jpg8d33e5e5-9d97-41a5-bf47-63b1c45af509Original.jpg

Dougie M wouldn't have stood for this junk without screaming with a mouthful of chewDidn't most these young guys play for Dougie? Maybe to much screaming not enough teaching?

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 At least when Buxton makes a throw to the infield it hits the cutoff man hard and on the fly. The other guys we currently have in the corner outfield spots, their throws just kind of come in aimlessly on several bounces until retrieved by the nearest fielder. Not good.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Good job, Buxton. Now, where did the umps go?
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Sigh, where's this ump when we need him?http://cdn-s3.si.com/s3fs-public/2016/03/24/cespedes.gif
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Didn't most these young guys play for Dougie? Maybe to much screaming not enough teaching?Bump. That is a good point. They won at least one championship. Too much talent not enough teaching?
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Didn't most these young guys play for Dougie? Maybe to much screaming not enough teaching? But Mauer got to 'em first. <<ducks>> Jake Mauer that is. And a little mistake in the beginning is a big one in the end.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I dunno, Nolasco managed some crisply hit balls. This is an interleague game right? RIGHT?!
