twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Game of the year! Andy MacPhail is in the booth with Bert and Dick! To me, it's interesting that MacPhail went back to the story about how the Twins won the Series just as things were getting organized. Then the Twins went on to win the 1991 Series. Seems rather prophetic. Either that, or Mr. MacPhail actually had a plan.Identified the '86 team as needing bullpen help and went out and got it for '87. Imagine that, revolutionary!

alarp33 Provisional Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So much for that Plouffe trade... for those watching, how bad did it look? Hamstring?
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 This game. http://i.imgur.com/qi9zWa2.gifLOL! I kept waiting for him to fall flat on his face. Was disappointed. Maybe the baseball will make up for it.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Whoa, whoa, wait, did I just see a Twins catcher throw out a runner? I'm not hallucinating?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 That's a backhanded compliment if I ever heard one.http://cheapisthenewclassy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/compliment-prickly.gif

jimmer Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Whoa, whoa, wait, did I just see a Twins catcher throw out a runner? I'm not hallucinating? Not watching the game, haven't seen the lineup card, but Suzuki must not be playing
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 So much for that Plouffe trade... for those watching, how bad did it look? Hamstring?I'm not watching either, but my At Bat notification that I just received says "Plouffe exits the game with an apparent leg injury." Very helpful, I know.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Whoa, whoa, wait, did I just see a Twins catcher throw out a runner? I'm not hallucinating? Are we sure that it was done on purpose?
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 When Sano comes back from the DL the corresponding move should be Park to AAA. With Plouffe getting hurt there's now an opening at 3B for Sano. I certainly didn't want Plouffe to get hurt, but it now makes the Sano situation a little easier. How long till Sano is back??
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'd say Rosario up Park downWhere will Rosario play? Grossman is playing well, Kepler is playing well enough to stay in the lineup. Do you send Buxton down?

hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 What happened on the triple by Galvis that Buxton didn't catch it? It doesn't seem like his defense is as good as was advertised. I don't remember a young Torii ever missing plays like that.

Very helpful, I know.Still better than the NHL."Lower body injury."Provus/Gladden guessed it was the knee that bothered him earlier in the year.

Lest we forget a certain playoff game.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 5. Game prediction. Twins win 7-4. Nolasco keeps us on edge yet again. Very good half-a-prediction. Now all we need is five more runs!
lukeduke1980 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Where will Rosario play? Grossman is playing well, Kepler is playing well enough to stay in the lineup. Do you send Buxton down?Grossman can DH some, Mauer can DH some sliding Kepler to 1st. I think I'm on board with the people who say Buxton's proven he can hit Triple A, so he just needs to keep learning here. I guess Park hasn't proven he can hit AAA
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Every player in the history of the game has missed a play they should make.100% agree, but it seems like Buxton has missed a number of deep plays that I would have expected him to make based on the reputation that precedes him. How is he rated by the defensive metrics?
hybridbear Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 How is he rated by the defensive metrics? If I understand how to read the data on FanGraphs, his UZR this year is -6.3. That seems bad...

How is he rated by the defensive metrics? On the replay, it just looks like the ball was just out of his reach to me. Not sure the route mattered since he was still there in time. I'm also watching that on my phone, so there is that.
