They should make is so that if a reliever comes in with, say a man on first and he lets that runner score, he gets charges with .75 of a run. If the man is on second, .5 and so on.

Twins marketing department's new campaign is almost ready to launch:

2016 Twins baseball -  beats being mauled by a bear!

Does it really though?

I think flogging is a better idea.

Mauer just gonna let that hitting streak die I guess

Edit: it was a reaching base streak, and it's still intact

Yes,  but it's closer than it should be.  The tie breaker is the bad bear breath that most bear attack survivors complain of.    But hey,   they've got over a hundred games to pull ahead of the bear,  so who knows?

I'm thinking a quilt that says "you never would have gotten three rings if we kept you...let's bury the hatchet"

The Red Sox were the only team who showed interest when he was released. If he's still bitter about the Twins after 13 1/2 years shouldn't he feel the same way about the other 28 teams who declined to offer him a chance?

Tell that to randy moss who made it his career goal to poop on the cowboys

You did the right thing, turned away, then you looked back? Tsk tsk tsk.

I didn't know it had gotten to the point of no return, until I returned to see. Should've just gone to bed and read about it in the morning. But then that wouldn't have been a good start to my day. Better to know now and put it behind me. After all, tomorrow is another day.

Thanks for reminding me that we have another game tomorrow, going to be sick now ;)

What was your favorite Phil Hughes moment.

When he parked his car behind the outfield fence to avoid signing autographs when he was in AAA

LOL

Just take the called third strike, for a change, Plouff-see.  Skip the eye roll, the bat raise, the look of pained unbelief.

It's...old.

Off topic, I see that Ventura got 9 games off.

Sounds like great fit for the Twins.

In fact, the marketing possibilities positively give me goosebumps!

For instance: "Twins, come for the game, stay for the crazy!"

Or: "This bout is scheduled for 9 innings! And in this corner, weighing in at 175lbs of crazy heat: "Yordano Ventura!"

Dick almost delirious from the awfulness,    noting cheerfully in the 8th that  "It was just a couple of innings ago that the Twins were tied!"

Thanks,   Dick,   it's easy to forget how time flies when you're having this much fun...

I honestly feel a bit bad for Dick.

He's got a tough job.  And getting tougher by the week.

That's a picture of Tom Hanks after he took 20 hits of acid. Sadly, he never came back.
