sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 No matter which way the wind goes, the stinkyness of the Twins follows...Anywhere the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Dick and Bert will let you know the minute the first inning of the last game of the season is over.Somehow, I don't think it's going to take that long...
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Back in the olden days, on stolen bases, the fielder might make a tag on a close play and then punch the glove into the air, as if to show the tag to the umpire. Nowadays, with replay, if you are a fielder, you apply the tag and keep the glove down on the runner, hell or high water. I like the old way better. Resist change, people! I beg you all!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Bad overturn. There has to be definitive evidence and I don't think there was. But, I'm not an expert or anything. You're an armchair expert like the rest of us
operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Plouffe needs to get out of this slump somehow!
David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 White Sox rotation is Latos intolerant; and another former Twin goes over to the Dark Side. http://www.csnchicago.com/sites/csnchicago/files/styles/half_6__desktop_large_/public/2016/06/09/justin_morneau_sound_06-09_640x360_702539331648.jpg?itok=omvlzMah×tamp=1465510743I really thought they'd make that move a lot sooner. Like right after the LaRoche debacle. Glad for Justin to get another ML shot. Really, really sad that it's with.... that team which shall not be named.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 That's just the cherry I needed on top of my day. http://lolfunnymeme.com/wp-content/uploads/sadpanda.jpgwinner? Am I authorized to declare winners tonight?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Somehow, I don't think it's going to take that long... Yeah, we'll almost certainly know who holds the record, so at that point it will just be what the record is. If he hasn't been DFA'd or traded for a box of infield dirt by then, I'd want them to give the ball to Nolasco on the last day. You want your strongest running the anchor leg of the relay.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Ppl could be watching the drinking draft. Or maybe everyone's at a party we weren't invited to.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Plouffe needs to get out of this slump somehow!Plouffe needs to get the hell out of the 4-hole. Especially with Men-Dozier "protecting" him. So yeh, he got a homer recently, and so did Dozey, and good on them, but for both, it's been non-stop suck most of the time, in crucial spots in the order.

David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'm not about to go to a sports bar by myself in a strange town where no one knows my name. But I'm back at my parents' now ... just in time to see Bux, Nunie and Grossman tie it up ... yay! You know, in Chi, it's not like THEY think they have a rivalry with the Twinkies. You could get so many sympathy beers just by wearing your cap into one.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 You mean his homerun and game winning double yesterday don't count?Once a month is maybe... not quite enough.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 The continued inability of twins pitching to hold leads, ties and have shutdown innings is the absolute death of this team. And why they are on pace for 50 wins.

David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'm shocked.Aggies, I'm calling you out- you seem to be a Wiz with the stat stuff-- so, here we go again, and I'm counting on you: I KNOW, I just KNOW there's gotta be a stat for runs given up after tying or taking a lead. Land O' Goshen, this club just can't seem to get a zero after that happens, again and again and again and again and........
David HK Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Yeah, but I'm in Fort Myers right now.Oh. My apologies.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Sorry I'm late to the thread. I was returning to Tucson on a business trip. Which reminds me of a story...I know, I know, you're all shocked. Anywhoo...it was one of those Southwest flights where they just let you pick your own seat when you get on. I was like the last one on, and wouldn't you know, the only seat left was next to these two smart alec young whippersnappers who were sort of making fun of my age, in a tone and volumn that were designed to make sure I could just overhear enough to get the idea. I thought I'd try to make nice and offered to go get the first guy a coke. He said "Sure thing, old timer! And make it snappy." I had taken my shoes off to be comfortable, and didn't even wait to put them back on. I just got up, thought "I'll be the better man," and whent to get his drink. Came back, and the other punk says, "Hey...where's MY coke?" So I grit my teeth, go off, and return with his drink. As we were landing, I put my shoes on, and...dangit...those two punks SPIT in my shoes when I went to get them a drink! Well, I could hold my tongue no longer. "Y'know," I said, "At my age I've just about lost patience for these kinds of juvenile pranks. Ridiculous. Spitting in an old man's shoes. Peeing in someone's coke!"
