Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Correct me if I am wrong, but Mauer got a double and THEN was tagged out? Did they call that a single because I know I saw the same thing happen less than a week ago in a different game where it was called a double. It should too, since he did reach safely only to then be caught off the bag.Hard to blame the scorer for being confused. He'd never seen a twin get to second base. Platoon, twinssporto and jimmer 3

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 I was talking to my insurance guy about my car accident and I mentioned that it happened just down the street from my house. Insurance Guy: Well that makes sense... I was just reading a report from the company that said 77% of all car accidents occur near home. Riverbrian: That's interesting... What is the percentage of driving done near home? Insurance Guy: I don't know... hold on... I've got that somewhere... (Click Tap Tap Tap on the Computer) (Long Pause of silence while he reads for about a minute). Insurance Guy: Here it is... (Pause) 77% formerly33, USAFChief and HitInAPinch 3

twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 You know its a tough season of baseball when you find yourself actually looking forward to and enjoying the commercials between innings. Love the Century Link commercial with Paul Giamatti and Carrier commercial with Hrbek. The Cialas ads are pretty good too. ScrapTheNickname and Riverbrian 2
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Jays announcers talking about Park's "arm bar swing," which makes hitting low pitches hard. Hmm.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 (edited) Battle of Damn-aged Update III: Braves locked in a real nail biter with Pittsburgh, trailing 8-2 coming to bat in the ninth. Edit: The box score includes this disclaimer, "Live statistics during games are subject to change and should be considered unofficial.", so there's a chance it could all turn out to be a hoax. Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Arcia has fouled off two mistakes in this AB and he swings at one in the dirt. How has T.B. not been fired yet? Where is the improvement?

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Favorite baseball hed was from the 1960s when Gary Peters pitched for the White Sox. He was injured and missed a turn... "Sox win with Peters out" Not one I would have done. I did win the AP best headline award in 1989 at the Idaho Statesman. Kinda like being the tallest building in Wichita -- big deal.
