Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 The runners didn't fail to move up because of the strong throw, Richard. Rosario went too far on an obvious fly out instead of tagging and moving up on the throw. Then he steals 3B, which is fine, but probably not advisable since there were two outs and he was already in scoring position.Didn't matter. Joe-for-4 fanned to end any real rally. .268 and falling.
FunnyPenguin Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Everyone, head to Essurance and begin voting Mauer into the All Star Game, he deserves it!!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Glad to hear that you're ok. That sounds quite scary. It happened so fast. There was nothing I could do. She was driving West on a Frontage Road and I was driving west on a double lane and turning to the South. There was another car waiting to turn East on the double lanes and that car was blocking her path and my view. She just rolled right around that car and Boom. I wonder how much fun her insurance company is going to be and how I end up getting screwed now.

Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Wonder if Rosario got pulled for Mastro due to that latest baserunning bit.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Rosario went too far on an obvious fly out instead of tagging and moving up on the throw. At least two or three times a game, Twins baserunners (when there are any) look completely caught off guard when fielders make relatively routine plays, as if the defender suddenly flashed hidden X-men/ Fantastic 4 mutant powers and caught a ball with a 30 foot arm or teleported over to the foul line. Aggressive base running is great in the right situation, and when tempered with common sense. Right now their aggressiveness has neither. Pressing to make something happen when you're 24 and get on base 3 out of every 10 trips to the plate is understandable, but a smart baserunner turned manager like Molitor should be keeping that in check.

I wonder how much fun her insurance company is going to be and how I end up getting screwed now. Reminded me of a story. I was driving somewhere with a passenger who was blonde and sweet. At a stop, she read a traffic sign. "Frontage Road. Oh I know where we are, Frontage Road goes past my house." Long pause. I replied, "Do you know where stereotypes come from?" She asked, "What is a stereotype?" That's when I gave up and committed the conversation to memory.

If it happens at a Twins game, a Twins fielder will probably end up kicking it, and you'll finally make it on to ESPN's Top Ten Plays of the Night like you've always wanted.

gocgo Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Well, the 2002 Detroit Tigers had a .265 winning percentage for the worst 162 game record. We currently stand at .263 and falling. We have something to shoot for.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Plouffe .289 with that 2 run single.
wavedog Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Seems to be a requisite that when our relievers come into the game - he must give up at a minimum one run an inning.
jimmer Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Did it look like Dozier got wood on that pitch? Then he wastes his reprieve by watching strike three (though probably not an actual strike, but too close to let go).
Eduardo Tait Cedar Rapids Kernels - A+ C On Thursday, the 19-year-old went 2-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI in Cedar Rapids. That gives him nine homers this season. Explore Eduardo Tait News >
