Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 So a guy walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his arm. "Gimme a couple beers. One for me and one for the road."
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I hate the Raptors. So did Samuel L. Jackson
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 It's the Arm Strength. Arms out of this world... Throws that I didn't think were possible in my day are happening every game almost. Ozzie Smith and Brooks Robinson would struggle to compete with what is happening today on that side of the infield. I agree about Brooks (Arenado is just wow), but I still think Ozzie is the best I have ever seen.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Sadly, I did not realize this was a "joke" at first and actually thought about fish with nutella and just the thought of that combo was not good for the stomach. Although if you put it on a stick it would probably sell at the fair. On a stick... It would sell at the fair... even if it was called Salmonella.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The twins ERA in innings after we score has to be about 10.00. Better have a new wing ready to come in asap
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Author Posted April 27, 2016 I agree about Brooks (Arenado is just wow), but I still think Ozzie is the best I have ever seen.Brooks wouldn't even be the best defensive third baseman on the O's.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 I agree about Brooks (Arenado is just wow), but I still think Ozzie is the best I have ever seen. I think Ozzie is thought of that way because he was the only one doing that stuff in the 70's. He stood out... there was nobody in the same room as Ozzie. But... My God... they are all doing the stuff Ozzie did now. All those SS's you listed... They are all Ozzie Smith like in my opinion. And Arenado... Along with Lawrie when he played 3rd... and Machado... My jaw drops so often that I've become a permanent mouth breather.

My favorite part of the game is defense and for a defense fan, this is about the best time in my lifetime as a baseball fan.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Shark.........jumped. Brooks is 78 Years Old I feel pretty good going with Machado.
TwinsBaseball Provisional Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 That was a nice long lead for the TwinsRelevant again.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Two times through the order seems to be about as good as we can hope for our starters.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 The twins ERA in innings after we score has to be about 10.00. Better have a new wing ready to come in asapTo be fair the Twins have scored in 4/5 of the innings they've played in.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Brooks is 78 Years Old I feel pretty good going with Machado.Injury prone, Brooks might just be more reliable.
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 (High Five) Me 2I sometimes wonder, though, was defense just as good then and we didn't know it because we got much fewer games, saw way fewer highlights, etc? I mean, we had the game of the week and Braves games on TBS. Way less exposure to what was going on around the league.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Gotta hand it to the Twins. Bad bullpen? You can reduce the blown save percentage to pretty much zero if you don't turn a lead over to a reliever.
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 as of it wasn't hard enough to be a Twins fan, this seems particularly painful.yeah, because defense on our favorite team construction is an afterthought, if even considered important at all?
