Sir_Eugene11 Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 rain delay to start the season. stupid MLB.It doesn't look like the rain will let up until 7 PM or so, surprised they waited until game time to announce the delay. Who knows when they'll get going. ScrapTheNickname 1
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 If the game is delayed, why did they do the national anthem? Also, say the game has to be postponed until tomorrow--do they do the anthem again, or is that permanently crossed off the list? big dog and Platoon 2

James Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPASee, I assumed you were asking who would be the first to crack a beer. That is a solid choice though. Mine will be one of a Surly Xtra-Citra Pale Ale, Schell's Maifest, or some sort of home brew. DiscGolfer 1
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Would they wait 3 hours? This doesn't look good.

mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I guess this explains why there were closer to 10,000 fans then a sellout during introductions.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I know they don't plan for this but video packages during an opening day delay? I'd rather hear about Bert's birthday. Riverbrian 1

Who knows when they'll get going. They wanted to lock as many fans in the stadium as possible. If you've ever walked a Baltimore street, it's really for their own safety though, it's a total public service. ScrapTheNickname, Hosken Bombo Disco, Riverbrian and 1 other 4

The part of town Camden is in is really, really nice.Yeah sure, Baltimore has some terrible areas, but that's like saying Chicago is a garbage city because of the southside. DiscGolfer Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Looks like the heaviest of it should pass soon enough, might be some light rain later but they should be able to play through it once it starts.

amjgt Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I believe that the Twins request to start the season on the road. The try to push the home opener back as far as possible hoping for warmer weather. Of course it really is moot as MLB tries to get every teams home opener completed within the first 7-10 days of the season anyway. Well, they should stop. Statistically speaking, the odds of good weather on April 4th is almost the same as on April 11th. 1 year out of 20 maybe. Not nearly enough to justify passing up the allure of OPENING DAY vs "opening day"
big dog Verified Member Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Don't you have a refrigerated drawer in your desk to store your beer? Sheesh.No...but I did have a bottle of Jameson's in my office closet for a while. Unfortunately, I drank it all (over a period of several years and with a couple of colleagues) and have not replaced it. My bad. DiscGolfer 1
