So let's see, percent chance:

Injury - 87%

Trade - 10%

Mid game promotion - 2%

Ate bad pulled pork and couldn't make it out of the can in time to take the field - 1%

Pulling him mid-game and being replaced in the outfield by a pitcher is the curious part to me

Could he be leaving for Futures Game?  Game is Sunday.  Do they have early festivities?  I hope he's not traded.  Kids got a future.  They have Harrison on DL and Wickens was hurt yesterday.  Definitely shorthanded are the Lookouts.

Ok, all things considered, this isn't too bad:

Thanks for the update. Could be worse, but this type of thing unfortunately has become an annual event for Kepler. Hopefully, this time "day-to-day" really means day-to-day.

Are they expecting someone coming up?  You really shouldn't take the chances on getting a pitcher injured while playing in unfamiliar territory.  Quade had to have a pitcher bat the other day with a game on the line, so it seems guys must be nicked up, up and down the system.

And no, it's not Terry's way to trade away a top prospect.

Max Kepler tweaked his shoulder today, I hear. Initial thought is day-to-day. So minor. Did exit Chattanooga's game early. #mntwins

Shibuya gets an outfield assist!

(From the game log)

Jacksonville Bottom of the 6th

Defensive Substitution: Tim Shibuya replaces right fielder Max Kepler, batting 3rd, playing right field.

David Adams singles on a ground ball to shortstop Heiker Meneses.

Matt Juengel flies into a force out, right fielder Tim Shibuya to shortstop Heiker Meneses. David Adams out at 2nd. Matt Juengel to 1st.

Shouldn't be surprising that a pitcher has a good arm. Or that he didn't catch a ball the runner expected him to?

Anyway, hope Kepler's okay.

Just released, Kepler is having his shoulder amputated. Twins expect a full and quick recovery and are awaiting more tests before considering any DL moves. Still officially listed as day to day.

It's just a flesh wound. I think he'll be back and hitting one handed doubles by August.

Any solid news on this?

There's this:

Twins' prospect Max Kepler goes on disabled list

And this:

"I'm sure he's disappointed, like all of us are," said general manager Terry Ryan. "We would have certainly liked to have seen him in the (Futures) game. But you have to be healthy enough to take the post, and he's not."

Sadly, injuries have been one of the main defining points of Kepler's career.  Hopefully, this is the last one and he can pick up right where he left off.  .
