goulik Verified Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 At this time of year, I am always anxious to begin hearing these guys are signed. diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I would say that they fully expect to sign the top 10 plus a lot of the senior college guys in the later rounds. I'm hoping they can get one or two of the prep guys signed.
USMCTwin Verified Member Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Looks like we will not be signing Eastman, though not terribly surprising. http://www.yourcentralvalley.com/story-sports/d/story/eastman-not-turning-pro/42589/fuulzH_H8ESPPfa_RV5iVg
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 yeah. Fullerton is a good program. Really want Wilson.
goulik Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Author Posted June 14, 2015 I'm still hearing the crickets as we await signings so here's some food for thought...College Seniors likelier to be signed:36) Rich Condeelis RHP34) Brian Olson C32) Andrew Vasquez LHP29) Brad Hartong C23) Alex Perez SS21) Kamran Young OF18) Daniel Kihle OF17) Nate Gercken RHP15) Anthony McIver LHP14) AJ Murray C6) Chris Paul OFIf these guys are not signed, they don't want to play pro ball or WE don't want them to play pro ball.

Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 While at the spring training complex this weekend a little birdie told me there were "new players" in town. The Twins can't officially sign anyone til Monday but they've reportedly come to terms on quite a few already.
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I'm not going to say where I got it from, but a little birdie told me Travis Blankenhorn and Kolten Kendrick are signed and will be rooming together. Dan Kihle and Alex Perez are signed and will be rooming together, Andrew Velasquez and Hector Lujan, Kerby Camacho and Lean Marrero, AJ Murray and Cody Stashak, Sean Miller will be roomed with Andro Cutura, Kameron Young and Brad Hartlog are signed and will be roomed together.
Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 I don't know who Cutera is or if Velasquez was supposed to be Vasquez...Ahh, Andro Cutera is on the Elizabethton roster which makes sense... Miller being a college seasoned shortstop and all. It's Vasquez he's signed

CwK Provisional Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Wolfson has Cabbage signing tomorrow. Above slot.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Hey guys- haven't checked in for a bit, but see you're looking for info. I've been busy on my Draft Handbook, which I think you'll love and it's going to be reasonably cheap (just a few bucks). I'll tell you what I can: Jay is done. At slot says Jim Callis.Cody is done and under slot. Not an enormous savings, but enough. (I can't go public with under slot figures yet)Blankenhorn is done.Cabbage will sign soon. Over slot deal, got 3rd round money.Robinson got $5k under plus a few semesters paid for. Unnecessary haggling, from what I hear.Paul got done significantly under slot.Moran is the lone Top 10 not done. He'll get done and I would guess he'll get a little more than slot.Kendrick is done pending physical in Minneapolis. Haven't heard figure, but guessing it's over slot.Wade is done. Got slot.Miller got $28k under slot according to Jim Callis. Outside of the Top 10: Wiel is first player un-signed (obviously). Then Wilson and Eastman. I'm *guessing* the Twins will be able to offer close to $500,000 to either of those guys, if they chose to. They could also go after Engelmann and Sawyer. I'll update as I hear more.
d-mac Verified Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Robinson's signing bonus was $382,700. Source That's not much savings for a reliever.

Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Little birdie told me Jay to room with Gonsalves, would love to be a fly on the wall in that room.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 So have the Twins assigned Jay to Ft. Myers? That's not bad for a newly-drafted pitcher, even out of college.
Monkeypaws Verified Member Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Thanks Jeremy - still lots of good prospects I hope to grab yet. Kyle Wilson was mentioned as a good probabiity to sign, and is going to a CC. Could he be a draft and follow candidate?

Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Where are they finding money to go after the guys outside the top 10? Especially if they are giving third round money to Cabbage and going overslot to Kendrick? Chris Paul gave them a lot of savings.

Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Where are they finding money to go after the guys outside the top 10? Especially if they are giving third round money to Cabbage and going overslot to Kendrick? Well the total draft pool was 7,388,700 and the Twins can spend an additional 369,435 without giving up a draft pick for next year, so in total they can spend 7,758,135 without getting in trouble. Jay just took 3,889,500 which leaves at most 3,868,635 for the rest of the draft class.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Twins signed 40th-rd pick Max Cordy from UC-Davis. Big dude with a power arm, up to 95 mph with a slider. He'll be a reliever. Lacks control. Good investment for minimal dollars in the last round.
Brandon Winokur Wichita Wind Surge - AA 3B/CF In the final Wind Surge game of the season, Winokur played center field and went 4-for-6 with a double, two runs and three RBI. Explore Brandon Winokur News >
