At this time of year, I am always anxious to begin hearing these guys are signed. Which ones will be signed and which ones will end up signed with someone else 2-4 years from now? Time will tell. I have not seen anything on TD yet to track them so Here is a place we can track that. Below I have the draft picks. As we hear that they are signed, lets share here and I will edit this list with *Signed* after their names. Lets include signing bonuses if we hear them.

I would say that they fully expect to sign the top 10 plus a lot of the senior college guys in the later rounds.  I'm hoping they can get one or two of the prep guys signed.

Posted

I'm still hearing the crickets as we await signings so here's some food for thought...

College Seniors likelier to be signed:

36) Rich Condeelis RHP

34) Brian Olson C

32) Andrew Vasquez LHP

29) Brad Hartong C

23) Alex Perez SS

21) Kamran Young OF

18) Daniel Kihle OF

17) Nate Gercken RHP

15) Anthony McIver LHP

14) AJ Murray C

6) Chris Paul OF

If these guys are not signed, they don't want to play pro ball or WE don't want them to play pro ball.

Sounded like Alex Robinson is on the way to the Twin Cities for his physical

Hopefully he's bringing his team mate Lamonte Wade

While at the spring training complex this weekend a little birdie told me there were "new players" in town. The Twins can't officially sign anyone til Monday but they've reportedly come to terms on quite a few already.

Posted

I'm not going to say where I got it from, but a little birdie told me Travis Blankenhorn and Kolten Kendrick are signed and will be rooming together.  Dan Kihle and Alex Perez are signed and will be rooming together, Andrew Velasquez and Hector Lujan, Kerby Camacho and Lean Marrero, AJ Murray and Cody Stashak, Sean Miller will be roomed with Andro Cutura, Kameron Young and Brad Hartlog are signed and will be roomed together.

I don't know who Cutera is or if Velasquez was supposed to be Vasquez...
Ahh, Andro Cutera is on the Elizabethton roster which makes sense... Miller being a college seasoned shortstop and all.

It's Vasquez he's signed

Hey guys- haven't checked in for a bit, but see you're looking for info. I've been busy on my Draft Handbook, which I think you'll love and it's going to be reasonably cheap (just a few bucks).

I'll tell you what I can:

Jay is done. At slot says Jim Callis.

Cody is done and under slot. Not an enormous savings, but enough. (I can't go public with under slot figures yet)

Blankenhorn is done.

Cabbage will sign soon. Over slot deal, got 3rd round money.

Robinson got $5k under plus a few semesters paid for. Unnecessary haggling, from what I hear.

Paul got done significantly under slot.

Moran is the lone Top 10 not done. He'll get done and I would guess he'll get a little more than slot.

Kendrick is done pending physical in Minneapolis. Haven't heard figure, but guessing it's over slot.

Wade is done. Got slot.

Miller got $28k under slot according to Jim Callis.

Outside of the Top 10:

Wiel is first player un-signed (obviously). Then Wilson and Eastman. I'm *guessing* the Twins will be able to offer close to $500,000 to either of those guys, if they chose to. They could also go after Engelmann and Sawyer.

I'll update as I hear more.

Where are they finding money to go after the guys outside the top 10? Especially if they are giving third round money to Cabbage and going overslot to Kendrick?

Thanks Jeremy - still lots of good prospects I hope to grab yet.

Kyle Wilson was mentioned as a good probabiity to sign, and is going to a CC. Could he be a draft and follow candidate?

Draft and follow is no longer a possibility

Hey Jeremy,

I have not seen you or Bob say anything about Condeelis... What's the story there? He's the only College Senior not signed isn't he?

Chris Paul gave them a lot of savings.

Condeelis isn't a senior. It doesn't sound like he's likely to sign.

Jay and Robinson are official. Cabbage will be tomorrow pending a physical. He got over $700K.

Well the total draft pool was 7,388,700 and the Twins can spend an additional 369,435 without giving up a draft pick for next year, so in total they can spend 7,758,135 without getting in trouble.  Jay just took 3,889,500 which leaves at most 3,868,635 for the rest of the draft class.
