Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 One more good outing and I'll bet Ryan starts getting some serious calls about Pelf.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Like most posters, I like what's happening lately with the team, especially the different ways it won these last three games. The pitching is holding up better than expected, and the hitting and defense shows promise. Meanwhile, I want the Twins to do the Astros thing and win a dozen or so in a row. If they're a team of destiny, maybe we can be, too. Oh, and your poetry has hints of Frost and Yeats. But they were Yankees fans.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 And I've got my broom out!You just jinxed us. Thanks a lot for nuthin'!

Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 A good day for a ball game, a good day for golf. I'll make the easy choice. Good luck, threadies!
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 You just jinxed us. Thanks a lot for nuthin'! No. This was to counteract my earlier predictiion in another thread that the Twins would win 3 of 4. Now I'm getting greedy and expecting good things!

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 It is too bad the Astros changed leagues - it could have been a Twins-Astros World Series.Heh ... when I moved to Chicago my mom asked if was going to cheer for the White Sox or the Cubs. I said 'neither, but I guess I could cheer on the Cubs because the likelihood of the Cubs and Twins playing each other in the WS is nil' ... I might be wrong

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Soooo, no chance for those Cubs to make it?heh ... it was more not likely they would both be there at the same time ... but I could see it happening, maybe ... say ... 2017 or 2018?

Jerr Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 96.3 FM does a really good job on their broadcasts of the Twins!!!
Jerr Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I'm predicting a 5-4 Twins win As my cheddar brats get ready for their grillin'
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 You just jinxed us. Thanks a lot for nuthin'! I'm tempted to say the new Punchline Contest requires an Australian accent, and starts with "That's not a jinx. THIS is a jinx..." But which would be worse: the resultant jinx, or that this might win...
Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I've got a couple of Leine's on ice waiting for me when I get home from work. Hip hip, huzzah!
jimmer Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 And the Twins broadcast today starts with a PR tribute to Hunter. Calling him the cornerstone of the team in the 2000s and the one who transformed our team from nothing to something. Then the broadcasters said the Twins felt that Hunter had a lot left in Hunter baseball wise. And, like some others, they then said the last two days have proven the Twins right.

Paul Pleiss Verified Member Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I'd rather listen to Hawk when the Sox lose than listen to Dick, Bert, Cory or Dazzle during a Twins win.
