gil4 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 bias how?I'm just following on the gamecast, so I'm guessing the Twins keep hitting doubles and HR's and he makes them all stop at 1B. Holding Mauer up at third was a dirty trick, too.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 It started Game One I Believe. I think Circus Boy was looking for updates and Somebody did... Don't remember who... And Tagged it with... That was Your Circus Boy Update... So Now any update of any kind is a Circus Boy Update. This has been your Circus Boy 'Circus Boy Update' Update.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Frankincense is commonly known as Frank. He is the 2nd youngest Pontipee brother. And now I gotta watch that Musical!!!
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Bert says Brian Price is his new hero. Dick says, "Based off the precedent you set, he wouldn't be managing for three years."

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 This has been your Circus Boy 'Circus Boy Update' Update. Winning Post thus far

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Frankensense... It should have been a regular 70's SNL bit. Maybe A Weekend Update Feature. Now it needs to be legislation that actually helps people.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 MLB needs a rule change that an inherited runner counts only half a run against the starting pitcher, if Blaine Boyer is the reliever. Hardly seems fair to assign it all to Milone.
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Addison Russell was called up by the Cubs.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I thought it was some herb that comes back from the dead. That is a common mistake - Frankensense was not the herb that came back from the dead -- but rather the herb that brought the dead herb to life, not the monster herb itself.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I don't even know what Frankensense is or how to spell it. Or Edinson.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Okay, I can't believe I did this, but I found the origins. It was this thread and it was kind of a joint effort, but we were mostly kind of making fun of CB who complained (tongue in cheek) that no one was posting score updates when the game hadn't started yet.http://twinsdaily.com/topic/17442-st-game-26-twins-red-sox-330-605pm-ct/
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Addison Russell was called up by the Cubs. I know... and he was on the waiver wire in my fantasy keeper league for some reason. So I claimed him.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Well, at least he didn't allow one more run with the hopes of getting the win.
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Thanks everyone for the Circus Boy explanation.
jimmer Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I know... and he was on the waiver wire in my fantasy keeper league for some reason. So I claimed him. The future is now for the Cubs. They may not make the playoffs this year, but those two studs will get valuable experience and get adjusted to the majors this year in preparation for next year. Not that I've counted them out this year at all, but it'll be exciting for the fans to see the future on the field.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I think the short story is CB is a legendary figure, similar to Santa Clause or the Easter Bunny that might have been based on a real person (or rabbit). Now kids all around the world talk about Circus Boy updates during baseball season. I know it is always hard on parents when their kids get to old to believe in Circus Boy but can only hope that if his spirit lives in their heart so will baseball.

formerly33 Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Addison Russell was called up by the Cubs. And he wants to be just like Kris Bryant, too:
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Frankensense... It should have been a regular 70's SNL bit. Maybe A Weekend Update Feature. Took me about four times of accidentally running across this post again, to get it. Well done. Kinda sorta.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Thanks everyone for the Circus Boy explanation.Heh, way more than you wanted to know, but if you read that whole thread I posted you'll get the gist.

Here's a Top Ten List of the Greatest Herb's 10. Alpert9. Score8. Parsley7. Sage 6. Rosemary5. And Tyme4. Art Garfunkel 3. Brooks2. Dillweed1. Carneal
stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Not confident that the Twins can hold a one-run lead with nine outs to go.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I am glad that Herb Carneal ranks ahead of dillweed. I was worried.
