Game Thread: Twins @ Tigers, 9/27 @ 6:08pm CT

I plan on attending the game thread tomorrow, for the season finale, but just in case something comes up and I miss it, I wanted this on record:

 

I enjoy these game threads so much.  I love watching baseball, love watching Twins baseball even more, and my enjoyment of both is enhanced by the game thread.

 

For that, I owe a huge thank you to Chitown and RB for making them happen.  Day in, day out.  I'm not sure mere words can express how much I appreciate you making this happen.  It's a big deal.  So thanks!

 

I also want to thank all the game threaders.  All of you...and you know who you are, the regulars, the part timers, the once in a whilers...add to my enjoyment of Twins baseball.  I hope none of you have taken offense to my corny one liners, and especially my sometimes cranky attitude when things aren't progressing the way I think they should.  I can assure you it's not personal, nor do I take offense at any good natured humor pointed in my direction.  

 

All in all, it'll be a long winter, but I suspect most of us will be back here next spring.  Hopeful, anxious for baseball again.  I can't imagine how much fun these threads will be if (when) the Twins are a great team again.

Conversely, it's been fairly easy to measure how much less enjoyable the past few seasons of the current Twins have been without participating in game threads.

 

Thanks to the TD'ers who make it work, especially the mods, and ChiTown and Riverbrian in particular for making sure that each thread starts with at least one reason to smile about every Twins game, especially since the games themselves often didn't come close to one.

We have one more. Maybe we can answer the bell and if so, the Royals best get their asses in line and step to the challenge.

 

Nothing would make me more pleased than seeing a game 163 and a possible Tigers wild card game.

Sox defeat Royals 5-4. Tigers need a win or another KC loss to win the division. Royals need a Twins win coupled with a Royals win to force a game 163.

 

Cards lost and didn't clinch. Pittsburgh is still alive, but needs to win tomorrow and have the Cards lose again to force a game 163.

 

In the wild card, Seattle is still alive just tying the score in their game while Oakland lost again. Same scenario for Seattle as the Bucs and Royals--they need to win out and hope the A's lose to force a play in game to the play in game.
