if any moderators are here, could you please venture over to the "communal pictures" post.

Danke

Saw the report.  That's the best way but thanks for the heads up.  I'm actually at work but just happened to catch it.

I have come to the conclusion that you cannot watch the game, do the game thread and lose 2 out of 3 games of Candy Land to your granddaughter!

Dozier may have slowed down, but he has scored 111 runs and driven in 70.  Subtract 22 from his homers, and he has produced more than a run a game in the games he has played.

Make that 112 + 71 - 23=160 in 155 games.

Anybody remember Ron Clark?

When I was a kid, coming up watching Killer, Carew, Oliva, etc., I thought a new superstar was going to be in the pipe line every couple of years. Rick Rennick, Dan Ford, Steve Brye, Steve Braun, Bombo Rivera! The list, as we all know, has been long ... Well, I remember Ron Clark, a third baseman in 1968 or 1969 had an easy popup at third but ... he tripped over the bag, and missed the ball. I thought it couldn't t get worse.

Your 2015 opening day starting left fielder, Hermann?

I hope you need a Korean translator to get an answer.

With a new manager on your side, and a top notch FA added to your minor leaguers, you'll be taking 2 of 3 from her as soon as 2016.

For the research department:  The Twins play Detroit 19 times this year.  I know they have scored a bunch of runs.  Have the Twins ever scored more runs against a single opponent than they have scored against the Tigers this year?

Just a tune-up for us before the play-offs.  The Tigers are just playing out the string and look like they have quit for the year.   Oh, wait...

It is my suspicion she cheats? Otherwise there is no way I would lose a game of skill to a little person!

Leave the game thread, turn off the game, and play Candy Land with your daughter ... it'll be too soon and she won't want to play games with her Dad anymore.

Four 90+ loss seasons were bad enough.  What would four 180+ loss seasons have been like?  How empty would Target Field have been on Christmas Eve?  Two fans?  (Seth - who would be there with you?)  Would there even be enough players showing up?

Or you could get her a screen name ...

Vargas with 4 walks spread over three straight games, ending a walkless streak dating back to August 23, and equaling his August total as well.

Oops, that's not including tonight's three.  Seven walks in four games. after four in 47 games.

I plan on attending the game thread tomorrow, for the season finale, but just in case something comes up and I miss it, I wanted this on record:

I enjoy these game threads so much.  I love watching baseball, love watching Twins baseball even more, and my enjoyment of both is enhanced by the game thread.

For that, I owe a huge thank you to Chitown and RB for making them happen.  Day in, day out.  I'm not sure mere words can express how much I appreciate you making this happen.  It's a big deal.  So thanks!

I also want to thank all the game threaders.  All of you...and you know who you are, the regulars, the part timers, the once in a whilers...add to my enjoyment of Twins baseball.  I hope none of you have taken offense to my corny one liners, and especially my sometimes cranky attitude when things aren't progressing the way I think they should.  I can assure you it's not personal, nor do I take offense at any good natured humor pointed in my direction.

All in all, it'll be a long winter, but I suspect most of us will be back here next spring.  Hopeful, anxious for baseball again.  I can't imagine how much fun these threads will be if (when) the Twins are a great team again.

Thank you one and all.

Great idea,

She know how to use the iPad, has a short attention span, and knows nothing about baseball! Hmmm that sounds familiar!!
