TWO:  Today and tomorrow ... Brian's thinking countdown ... go!   :)

------------------------------

Yep... Two More to Go... You gotta play em... one game at a time.

Things to Think About:

1. Spoiler -- The Twins did a good job playing spoiler and the White Sox did a crappy job of it so the pennant race is down to 1 game. If the Twins can win today. That'll give the Royals a chance. This is Thought #1... I'm pulling for the Royals.

2. Ricky Nolasco -- His ERA sits at 5.47... His ERA has never been this lofty since 2007... When he was a 24 year old tossing 21 innings with the Marlins. Last Year he was 3.70... ERA+ of 100. Here's the deal... He gets one more start and then 2014 gets tucked away and he can get himself ready for 2015. Please... Please... Please Mr. Nolasco... Be Ready for 2015. We need pitching and we paid good money to you to provide it.

3. Kyle Lobstein -- Rookie Pitcher who toes the rubber for the Tigers tonight. Baseball is a funny game... With the rotation that the Tigers had to start the season and with the acquisition of David Price. You'd wouldn't think that they needed a guy named Lobstein but here they are. 2 games left... 1 game lead and a Lobstein on the mound. He's from Flagstaff Arizona... A town north of where all the people live in Arizona. I'm not sure the question "What is a Lobstein" has been answered but he's done a nice job for the Tigers thus far. 3.38 ERA in 34.2 Innings.

4. Pinto -- He's in the lineup and the game matters... I'll step aside and let people complain about that.

5. Microwaves -- I found myself this morning yelling at the Microwave... "C'Mon... I don't have all day. I think it's possible that my patience needs to be rebuilt.

I stopped reading here.  I didn't want ya to ruin what happens in the rest of the game...

Another schrodinger's cat sort of thing: if i don't read the spoiler, how do i know if it is a jinx or not?

Though regarding 10k, do you get credit for these thoughts considering your often editing an existing post, rather than creating a new one?

Anyway, hooray for a twins game!

Between church and taking out my wife's mom to supper, I'll miss the festivities tonight. But I leave you with one disturbing thought:

Has anyone, anywhere seen Rajai Davis and Tracy Chapman in the same room?

Something about the name "Lobstein" seems unnatural. I did some soul searching and journeyed into the dark abyss of my mind to discover what was bothering me about the name "Lobstein".

This is what I found.

There was a family of German-French surgeons named Lobstein in the 18-19 centuries. There is a disease called Lobstein syndrome which causes brittle bones, named for their work in treating it.

Which probably has nothing whatsoever to do with this Lobstein, but made me think of Joel Zumaya for some reason.

So there.

Here's a special gift for Brian, harkening back to simpler times early in the season.

Wonderful viewin'.  Thanks CRArko!

Insightful too.  Rubber band's restorative force changes is temperature dependent.  All the twins need to do is get hot, and the rubber band will pummel them upward...

But my favorite quote: "The world is a dynamic mess of jiggling things."

I think it's about time for baseball...

Also, do not forget Dietrich Anders Lobstein. Who invented and built the first microwave prototype in Luxembourg in 1958.

Dietrich was born in Prague in 1931 to Franc and Imelda Lobstein. During WWII his father was a big part a the Czech resistance against the Nazis, unfortunately his father was captured and executed by the SS in 1943.

After the war, in anticipation of Czechoslovakia coming under the Soviet Union sphere of control, Dietrich and his mother immigrated to Luxembourg.

Dietrich Lobstein sold the patent and design of his invention in 1969 to Gary Microwave... the rest as they say is history.

How 'bout them Gophers!

What, you already know the outcome of the game?  So we can yell out what happened without spoiling your TiVo watching?

Any word on what happened to Pinto?

For those who tune out Dick & Bert, he left with a stomach ailment.

Uh...no.  I was referring to two weeks ago.  Watched it this morning!

So Pinto was listening to Dick and Bert, not knowing better, and got a tummy ache?

He's young he'll learn to use the mute button.

OK, I didn't word that very well.  If everyone loved to listen to Dick and Bert I would have just assumed everyone heard and I wouldn't have posted.  However, I thought there was a fair chance that I was the only one who didn't have the radio crew or the Detroit broadcast tuned it.

Your theory would have been plausible if Pinto's first language was English.

C'mon Chief, you need to post the spoiler alert.  I was about to watch that one.

Aren't we supposed to place physical problems in quotes, since we don't trust a word the players or management say?

Meanwhile, Nolasco has a good start to his game.

/ if that jinxes him, so be it.  He needs to be tougher than that

I have not even seen them alone in a room,,,, ergo, do they even exist?

I assumed it was because Gardy didn't notice he put him in the lineup until he saw him standing in front of him on deck... Now I know why Gardy carries 3 catchers..? Ok... As long as I am in a snarky mood.... Sine we are battlin back, bustin our tails, and respectin the game, why is Suzuki not playing?
