Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Game-time forecast: Sunny. Winds blowing from left to right field at 5-10 m.p.h. Temperature around 75. The Brian Show! Please stay tuned ...-------------------------------- The Brian Show? I don't know how to produce any video... You'll have to imagine everything in your mind. Things to Think About: 1. It's always Sunny in Seattle: The Forecast says Sunny... In Seattle??? Must be a summertime thing. During the winter... I understand it's a constant drizzle and rain that depresses everyone. Seattle has more unhappy people than anywhere on earth. Depression and Divorce are rampant in the city. There are therapists on every corner... Right next to the Starbucks that is also on every corner. Coffee and Rain will do that to you. 2. Roenis Elias -- It seems like we are facing the exact same rotation of pitchers when we played Seattle earlier in the year. We faced Chris Young before and we faced Roenis Elias on May 17th in Minneapolis. We won that game 4-3... Elias did pretty good against us but a 3 Run Homer by Brian Dozier in the 5th was the difference. Tonight it's a 2nd matchup with Elias... Let's see who has improved more... Elias or the Twins offense. 3. Heating Up -- In the last 7 games... Sam Fuld is our hottest hitter. 11 for 23 for a .478 BA with a home run and 3 stolen bases. After that... Chris Colabello is cooking... 5 for 14 with 2 dingers. Both Fuld and Colabello have an OPS over 1.000 in the past 7. Honorable mention goes to Oswaldo Arcia. Nice to see Oswaldo find his way out of whatever it was he had. 4. Cooling Down -- In the past 7 games... 5 Twins are what I would call... "Yucky" at the plate. Dozier, Morales, Willingham, Parmelee and Escobar are "Yucky" right now and need to pick it up. 5. Lawnmowers -- My Neighbor stopped by last night and asked me if he could use my lawnmower. I told him "Absolutely... I'll gas it up for you... However... You can't take it off my property".
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I wish I was watching this game now rather than at 9:10 p.m. Stinking Mariners just can't let 'em leave town at a reasonable hour. OOPS! Forgot they still had a game tomorrow night at 9:10 p.m. -- hold this comment till tomorrow afternoon.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Can't stay up late to watch, either. My sense is a Nunez XB hit for RBI, Dozier and Hammer dingers, 7 innings of solid pitching from Gibby, Burton the hold, Perk the save and Twins romp 3-2.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 The sun shines in Seattle only at night, when it is already dark. Reading through last night's game, I was mightily impressed with the polymaths that comprise the TD crew. Curtains, the importance of who's batting third, and terrific jokes by Tibs and RB all returned many times more than the price of admission. And JB and Chitown got to talk about girly things to boot. Speaking of jokes... Two TV antennas got married. The wedding was so-so. But the reception was great. Drive safe going home. Don't forget to tip your servers.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I suppose no one will be going "yucky" when they leave Colorado. Mariners team ERA is 3.15, Rockies team ERA 5.02.
Tibs Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I wonder how long Colabello stays if he keeps hitting.

Tibs Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Would think as long as he keeps hitting. That's what I'm thinking. It would be hard to get him at bats with the current roster though.
curt1965 Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Misc. thought: thought last night was the best of the year for Morales-really looked comfortable IMHO...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 That's a good start Took... um, words out of mouth...

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I wonder how long Colabello stays if he keeps hitting. If he keeps hitting... I'd keep him until he dies.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Would think as long as he keeps hitting. As long as he doesn't stop refraining from failing to miss the ball, I don't see how the organization can refuse to not grant his evident lack of wish to no longer remain with the AAA club. / edit - oh, I see Brian said the same thing but somehow managed to post it quicker
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Atta Boy Kendry Plural I'm calling him KP from here on out.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 That's a good start A double-double.

You know... there's screen capturing software that you can run which will essentially run non stop from a computer. If you have a spare, download it, run it, vote for Morneau, and then replay.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Fuld has made some bummer throws this year... I'm gonna say it's not a strong suit.
