zchrz Provisional Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Toronto announcers keep teasing some other Cal Poly grad much more famous than KC. Who is it?Their broadcast is where I found that Correia factoid, but I knew the famous one already.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Zuke's been so good this year, it's kind of a shock to see him not deliver against Happ. Too bad...really got a fat fastball for strike 1.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Toronto announcers keep teasing some other Cal Poly grad much more famous than KC. Who is it? Casey Fien? Well, it's probably Ozzie Smith. Or Weird Al Yankovic.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 And he's a fun guy...like Escobar. Did you see him ribbing Morales for not scoring on his single? Good addition. I have to wonder, with all the discussion lately about unwritten rules, just how much of this kind of joshing (and gesturing especially) is tolerated by the other team before it gets construed as taunting or making light of them, resulting in perceived honor being at stake?

big dog Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 That was a brutal at-bat by Escobar there.

TNTwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 You just can't coach the kind of speed Morales showed legging out that grounder to Reyes. I credit Molitor anyway... Morales=singles hitter...sweet!

big dog Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Happ is a pitching version of Mike Hargrove.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Nice! Throw it into the camera well!
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 This odd, odd game continues. Gritty at bat by Santana though...he's a very pleasant surprise.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I officially endorse Santana starting over Escobar at SS whenever we scrounge up a real CF.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 This odd, odd game continues. Gritty at bat by Santana though...he's a very pleasant surprise. I totally agree- he put his bat on some tough pitches to stay alive, then beat out a nubber. Really nice job.
Hawkeye12 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Morales=singles hitter...sweet! Maybe he only hits a double if he hits it over the fence and has to stop at second because he is tired.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Happ is a pitching version of Mike Hargrove. Mike definitely had one of the all time great nicknames. Jeffrey Leonard's was better though!
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 I totally agree- he put his bat on some tough pitches to stay alive, then beat out a nubber. Really nice job. Right...Happ actually was starting to look kinda good out there the last three batters. Tough luck tonight for him.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 It looks like Happ has enough stuff to challenge hitters like he did with Zuke and Esco. It has to drive a team crazy to see a guy continue to nibble until his back against the wall.
big dog Verified Member Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Keeps taking off and putting on the glove? He kept looking into the catcher, then stepping off the rubber and starting over.
