diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Did you....want Parms to keep playing? Yes actually... I think he should be playing every day.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Fuld saw a concussion specialist in Pittsburgh. Initial report was positive per Berardino .... but who knows if that's the whole story. So.. the Twins packed up Fuld with some sandwiches and magazines and put him on the Greyhound for Pittsburgh, since flying aggravates concussion symptoms.. Ok I better stop while I'm ahead
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Yes actually... I think he should be playing every day. Fair enough. I do not think that, thus why the "typical Gardy" struck me as incorrect...much like your opinion
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Just reading Berardino's piece about Pelfrey with a mention of Fuld: http://blogs.twincities.com/twins/2014/05/28/twinsights-mike-pelfrey-to-have-sore-shoulder-examined/?doing_wp_cron=1401323807.5860390663146972656250 Didn't realize that Fuld's concussion was 5/8 -- time flies.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 It'd be nice to get Gibson at least a 1 run lead here. C'mon Danny.
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 I'm not so sure the Contact Play is best run with Willingham (or ever)

Ok I better stop while I'm ahead LOL, I thought about the no flying too when I read that he flew there. But maybe it doesn't apply if you've had the concussion for more than 2 weeks.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Ok 0-0... Love-Love Nil-Nil... Let's get it going. I want a W
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Ok... Dozier... If you don't make an out... We score!!! No pressure... Get out there and have fun!!!
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Close pitch. Twins get the call.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Guess it is too late to post about pinto.......
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Ok... Dozier... If you don't make an out... We score!!! That's a nice syllogism you got yourself there
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Guess it is too late to post about pinto....... Go ahead... Have at it... I think its unanimous.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Off the bat I thought Dozierzie got that'n.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Wish he would have pulled that a bit more.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 I hate not scoring when bases are loaded.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 That's a nice syllogism you got yourself there I love syllogism's... Nobody is perfect... I am nobody... Therefore I am perfect!!!
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Guess it is too late to post about pinto....... Never. Gardy's fascination with Suzuki, even as he fades from over-use is beyond aggravating.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Punto starting tonight is a no-brainer. In the last 14 days, Punto has been the starting catcher twice, both of the last 2 Saturdays and DH'd once. So apparently he's going to catch for Deduno one day a week and DH once or twice a week? Even though Pinto projects as the 4th (or maybe 5th) best hitter? And currently the Twins' 2nd best hitter in OPS and wOBA? Gardy being Gardy, falling in love with a certain veteran, to that veteran's eventual detriment through overuse and overexposure. You've hit on something. If Pinto changes his name to Punto, Gardy will start him every day. He won't be able to help himself. Why has no one suggested this sooner?
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 When's the last time we hit a grand slam? We get about one a year, while other teams hit something around four a year. Sorry I don't have any stats, but I think I'm right.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Gibson improving his BB/K ratio.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 The curse of being Deduno's personal catcher. Pinto starts tomorrow. Should he be DHing tonight? I think so, but those opportunites are going to be less with corner OFs Arcia and Willingham back. I hope Pinto catches for Nolasco and perhaps the rotation can be Pinto with Nolasco and Deduno and Suzuki catching the other three, with a DH assignment once or twice a week.I wonder if the only reason Pinto ever catches is because Suzuki doesn't want to catch Deduno.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Twins cleanup hitters, as a group, in 2014: .197/.251/.345. OPS is .008 better than the OPS of the 8th place hitters. AKA Collabello, with a bit of icing on the urinal cake from Parm. Ugly. Arcia should help, against righties anyway. Edit: Don't get me wrong, great story, will buy his book when it comes out (or at least sit in B&N and speed-read it for free), but man, that didn't pan out...http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/b/b2/TG_02.jpg/600px-TG_02.jpg
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Never. Gardy's fascination with Suzuki, even as he fades from over-use is beyond aggravating. Passing a kidney stone is beyond aggravating. Walking 20 miles through a desert without water or clothing is beyond aggravating. If playing Suzuki has reached that level? I'm turning the TV off.

And before anyone becomes angered over them not using public transit, word has it that it's a tri-brid that runs off electric, gas, or Twins Way.
