Watch this space for the starting lineups from the lovely and talented ChiTown

Thanks, Bri!

Gametime weather forecast: cloudy, rainy, windy, 35 degrees. My umbrella blew out on me 3 times just walking 2 blocks to the bus stop this morning. Just sayin'. Rain is to abate around 3 ... we'll see if we have a delayed game or a postponed game.

Twins:

SP, Hughes

Dozier 2B

Mauer DH

Willingham LF

Colabello 1B

Plouffe 3B

Arcia RF

Pinto C

Hicks CF

Escobar SS

Sox:

SP, Quintana

Eaton CF

Semien 3B

Abreu 1B

Gunn DH

Garcia RF

De Aza LF

Ramirez SS

Flowers C

Garcia 2B

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Things to Think About:

1. Blown Games -- Why the Twins don't have a win in the win column is tough to explain. It's easy to point to key moments and plays not being made but there are 9 innings of ball played(sometimes 10 11 or more innings) and a game is decided at any time. The goats were obvious yesterday. Perkins wasn't sharp... Plouffe couldn't make a basic play... Deduno was a little wild and Suzuki wasn't used to catching a Deduno. It comes down to making plays and the Twins didn't make plays. Today is a new day!!!

2. Aaron Hicks -- He looks confident right now... He looks like he knows what he's doing... If he was 0 fer right now... I'd say the same thing. He looks like he belongs. It's only two games but I think he could be a professional hitter.

3. Phil Hughes -- Today we get our first look at Phil Hughes in a regular season Twins uniform. Phil Hughes was always considered a top prospect until he hit the majors. His time in Yankee stadium was unrealized potential. Is that potential still there? If it is we got a steal with his contract. If not... He will end up... in the way. The answer to the question starts today.

4. Adam Dunn -- The White Sox spent some money on this guy. They also spent some money on Abreu. Gardy has been walking Abreu to get to Dunn. That kinda suggests that the Twins may feel that the White Sox overspent acquiring Dunn or it suggests that the Twins underspent in pursuit of Abreu. Is it respect for Abreu or lack of respect for Dunn... I think it's the latter.

5. April 3rd -- On this date in 1868... A Hawaiian surfs a 50 foot tidal wave... The largest wave ever surfed. The wave was created by a Chief Belly Flop.

On this date in 1966... Tom Seaver signed with the Mets for a $50K bonus. He bought a real nice refrigerator with the bonus money.

On this date in 1985... Vic Elliot pocketed 15,780 pool balls in 24 hours. Vic was pissed about it because the player he was playing against kept taking his made shots out and throwing them back on the table forcing Vic to make shots over and over again. His opponent eventually won using this method.

My most anticipated game for the past four months.

BRING ON PHIL HUGHES.

Yikes, well .. your anticipation may have to wait longer ...

The slow torture of Brock Beauchamp. I see a video coming up.

I'm about 35 miles north of Cellular Field. It stopped raining perhaps a half-hour ago and the sky is overcast but starting to clear. Wind has died down a bit too. I predict the game starts reasonably close to the scheduled time, in front of about 150 fans.

Just saw Cuddyer bust his *** trying to reach 1st on a grounder.

I'd like to see similar efforts from those in Twins uniforms.

Hmm ... you're in Cubs territory then ...

Emilio Bonafacio has his 10th hit already this season. In the first inning of game 3. Wow.

Nope. Wherever I am is automatically Twins territory. That's just how it works.

The last few years hasn't seen a lot of getting after it or tail battling off from the guys.

Kind of surprised to see Mauer play a day game after a day game.

A little bait-and-switch subterfuge by Chessmaster Gardenhire?

Playing head games with his own players???

Maybe he "accidentally" revealed the wrong lineup to the White Sox?

Hmm ..... can someone calculate the infinitesimal strategical advantage of Escobar over Florimon? :)

The man that wasn't good enough to be our 25th man is on a mission. He just got his 2nd hit of the day, 11th of the season, along with his 4th SB. He's already started at 2 positions and played 3 different positions in 3 games.

Sure, he'll likely soon come back closer to his career averages, but it definitely was a major miss not getting him from KC as a Super Util guy who could lead off a couple games a week.

You are trying to hurt me by saying that. I trust the Twins Front office but I fail to understand how Bartlett makes more sense over Bonofacio.

Hey ... then let's go to a southside bar together to watch the Twins and Sox play :)

The thing is... there's nothing wrong with his career averages.

He's an awesome super-utility guy (both real life and fantasy) and a perfectly serviceable starter.

In the baddest part of town? If you go down there... You better just beware.

I figured Kubel would be in the lineup today. Is the White Sox starter a lefty?

Damn you and damn your windy city!

Checked the weather at the Cell ... rain has stopped, overcast, winds 10-15 from the E, ESE, about 39 (but feels like 35) ... I think you won't have to wait. We aim to satisfy your anticipation here in the Windy City.

Seriously ... if we showed up in a Sox bar, I mean a real Sox bar in the Bridgewater neighborhood, we would not be allowed in or tossed. But quite honestly, I'm not that stupid, either. But we could get away with it in my neighborhood place, which is only southloop ... not far enough south.
