  1. I'd be happy with a 60/40 split from here on out in Jeffers favor with some time at DH . He should get as many at bats as anyone the rest of the way. Playing Vasquez 40% of the time may diminish the Twins advantage as @chpettit19 says, but I'd make that small sacrifice there rest of the way to keep Jeffers fresh for the duration. They also need to see how Vasquez responds the rest of the way. While I'm excited about Carmago and even Cosetti down in A ball, I don't think they can roll with Carmago as backup next year. Maybe in '25. I see them dealing Vasquez with one year left on his deal after next year or at the deadline. Oh and no to Jeffers at first. Don't mess with success, let him focus on his very important job.
  2. To me this is just hilarious and it's the same few every time. I guess they feel they have an important role to fill, lol
  3. And boring as all get out.
  4. It's been a long time since the twins lost the season series to Detoilet (apologies) lol. What 2016? Division games against familiar foes can be confounding in any sport. It happens, but one thing a do like about this middling club is they have had some really good showings against good teams too. Anything could happen this year, especially if 3 or 4 of their starters are healthy and dealing at the right time.
  5. Maybe it's just hindsight, eh? Was Rocco smart when Stewart was mowing the league down?
  6. I don't think Lee will be up this year. Maybe a cup of coffee. I'd also bet he starts next year at AAA and comes up based on service time manipulation. That's the way the system is set up.
  7. That may be what you want, but Miami specifically targeted Arraez for obvious reasons. This is an Arraez for Lopez like it or lump it situation. Good on the front office for digging in their heels and getting the 2 prospects.
  8. Oh I get it. No I don't think anyone is questioning AK's bat. He was really rolling, showing how well he could make adjustments, then his body let him down again. The silver lining is his wrist gets a little in-season respite.
  9. Huh? American League Hitter of the week lesser?
  10. Geez this page is as red as my Irish uncle's face on St Patty's Day
  11. Is that right? Lol. Please tell me how you know this
  12. I would not have signed a left handed corner outfielder this past off-season. If Joey Gallo was right handed, I still would not have signed him this off-season. This front office will not drop him before the end of the regular season. Two more roster spots in September will be the reasoning. My only question is will they have the cajones to leave him off the playoff roster?
  13. Yes anything that is known at the time of the trade should be factored in.
  14. Up here in Duluth we are burdened with clay under our thin topsoil. 100% clay. A remnant of the lakebed of the much larger ancient Lake Superior. SE of us in NE Wisconsin is the shoreline of that ancient lake and wonderful sandy soil. Ah to be able to build on that dream substance. As a builder and digger of holes, I assure you sandy soil is the bomb. The great drainage eliminates the frost heaving problems we fight up here.
  15. Not sure range is his problem, it's what he does when he gets there.
  16. I think he already did that at mime summer camp up in Quebec
  17. People were saying Buxton wouldn't sign here, didn't want to be here. The rationale was that he was upset over service time manipulation. Again, apparently sensitive people projecting their own reactions onto a situation they have no involvement in or any real knowledge of. Ditto for Gray. If the Twins pony up the best deal in FA, Gray will lunge for the pen, sign and hug Rocco, lol.
  18. @DocBauersaid, "I don't believe Gray is unhappy being a Twin. He's a tough competitor and is probably frustrated with his record, lack of support at times, and wants his team to win more. But he's also played on some bad teams in his career. Many times he's been interviewed he's only been "down" on himself for having a bad game or a bad inning that frustrated him. The whole "I want to pitch deeper in games" from last year has been blown out of proportion by those who want to dislike Rocco. When given a chance to go longer at one point in 2022, and it didn't go well, Gray stated he appreciated the opportunity but it was up to him to perform better. And again, more than once this season, Gray has voiced frustration with his own performance, but never anything in regard to Rocco, his usage, or his teammates. But I DO think he declines the QO as someone will offer him 3yrs, or a 2+1 that will come to around $60M. Biggest payday of his career, having never been a FA before, and without actually looking up career earnings....being tired and lazy...I'd bet it comes close to his career earnings so far. " This is a very good explanation of the Gray situation. As stated in the bolded section for whatever reason people are projecting their dislike for Rocco onto this with no evidence. It is irrational, unfounded and untrue, lol. QO Gray and take the pick, a sweet cherry on top of that very good trade. Sign Maeda. I think it will be reasonable, he will want to come back and it will turn out well. Hard pass on Mahle.
  19. Wait I thought Badoo was the cat's meow?
