  1. I guess the Twins do show a little emotion
  2. Nice matchup with the Brew Crew vs the Braves for a couple of innings
  3. A radar progression has a storm cell passing through just before game time. After that just small passing squalls. Can Sonny hold it together for 6?
  4. It is amazing to me how few pitchers there are in his top 60. Just 9 and clustered towards the bottom of the list.
  5. He is 20 and pretty slightly built at 6' 1" and 170. He has also had some minor, I think, shoulder issues. They have consistently limited him to around 50 pitches an outing and I'd guess that continues for the remainder this year. The plan could be to get some weight on him by next spring and then start ramping him up some.
  6. The two dingers are nice, I hope it signals to management that 6 or lower is the place for Buck for the time being. Gotta be Correa, Julien and Kirilloff 123 going forward.
  7. I'm still in the bottom of the first, but man baby Julien and Kirilloff are just getting off each other. Knock on wood this could be fun to watch for some time. Buxton wow Lynn is just a big crabby piece of meat, lol
  8. I'm still in the bottom of the first, but man baby Julien and Kirilloff are just getting off each other. Knock on wood this could be fun to watch for some time Edit: I obviously don't know what thread in in, lol
  9. Granny looks pretty intense, careful there.
  10. Rocco is sneaking Buxton down the order one spot at a time hoping he won't notice.
  11. Forget OPS for a second and consider OBP. Willi is at .319. Wait a second I just checked and that is exactly league average. I was expecting him to be below average because of his rep as a free swinger. His batting average is only a few points below average as well. I was going to say he couldn't use his speed if he isn't on base, but apparently he is at an average rate. Actually not bad for a utility guy. But therein lies the crux, not bad. I like Willi and have enjoyed watching him on the bases and in the field at times, but we should always be looking to do better than not bad.
  12. Buxton should be lower but with this lineup, geez. This management team needs to ride the hot hand, it is their biggest flaw. I can see Correa getting a break, especially against a righty, but Kepler should not be sitting today.
  13. This is rock and a hard place territory for Rocco. On the one hand why would you ever take Julien's bat out of the lineup? On the other Rocco is probably shell shocked by a lineup that has not scored late in games and every lead must be protected at all costs. Personally I would have a hard time taking Julien's bat out right now, ideally he can improve his defense and take this decision away from his manager.
  14. Yeah I think that's right and Julien is fine and was removed for defensive reasons.
  15. Baldelli on Max Kepler, "He's a great athlete. He's capable of being an explosive athlete. He's taking to some of the encouragement that we're giving him to force some action on the bases, too," Baldelli said. "He doesn't have to be a conservative baserunner. He can be an aggressive baserunner at times. Pushing him to do that is a good thing, and he's taken to it. It was a big play, it really was." This makes sense to me that Kepler would naturally not be that aggressive. Keep prodding him because an aggressive Kepler is closer to fulfilling the promise we all thought the athletic ballplayer had.
  16. Phil Miller at the Strib interviewed Buxton about his slump and he is saying it's mechanics and the mental aspect. There is no mention of a physical aspect, but he did say he needs to get his lower body into the swing more. He took outdoor batting practice under the watch of all the coaches, instead of just using the indoor cages. He said a break might do him good. Baldelli said he will be back in the lineup today after the 2 day break. Ok but how about 8th in the order and he has to earn his way back up? Early in his career they were careful about batting him high in the order because of the pressure. Well back to the drawing board I say.
  17. There was also the defensive value of Taylor and Farmer vs Julien and Castro.
  18. Julien got hit on the knee with a foul tip. That might have something to do with why he was removed.
