    I did some checking on patellar tendonitis, also known as jumpers knee and the news is sobering. This from Wikipedia: "Treatment often involves resting the knee and physical therapy.[2] Evidence for treatments, including rest, however is poor.[3][4] Recovery can take months and persist over years.[5][6][7][2] It is relatively common with about 14% of athletes currently affected; however research reflects that more than half of athletes with this injury end their careers as a result.[8][7][1] Males are more commonly affected than females.[2" It starts as micro tears in the tendon and can progress all the way to a torn tendon. You are supposed to stop the activity that causes the pain which makes me surprised they would let him play through it last year. If this is the problem it seems it could be as bad long term as chronic cartilage damage. By this time next year we could still be limited to speculation with this situation.

    I think the fear with Buxton is he didn't have a knee repair like an ACL surgery which can promise full recovery. He had a cleanup, likely of meniscus material which is cartilage. Cartilage doesn't grow back, so if enough is damaged, it becomes a chronic, degenerative condition.

    Well after tossing Wallner in a tough spot last night for his first plate appearance this time around, at least they are doing what I hoped for. What I didn't think would happen. Wallner at DH, Bux on the bench. Here's hoping Wallner freaking crushes it and puts the management team in a not so comfy spot. Then we get to watch how they respond this time. All you need to do Matt is go 9 for 9 this time, lol

    This is just what I asked for, but did not think would happen. Wallner or Julien at DH against rightys. If Buxton wants that plumb assignment back, let him earn it with one of his freakishly good hot streaks. Let's have a merit based lineup that always rides the hot hand ( if we can find one).

    This is a game Rocco can never win. It is ironic that now the pitcher he is not pulling early enough is the same pitcher people say wants out of the Twins because they pull him too soon. Hilarious. The biggest reason the Twins lost: 1 Sonny Gray himself 2a Ortega (happens) 2b Buxton (happens all too often)

No timetable was stated.

    When Polanco comes back how about Julien at DH against rightys (and second against leftys) then can give Buxton the short side DH role to save face 😂.

    There has to be an explanation for the absolutely horrid batting stats put up by the 100 million dollar man. It has got to be embarrassing. Will they just stay the course? It is hard to watch. This was a very winnable game.

    Why are you asking me? Try his trainer, the medical staff, the surgeon who operated on him two years in a row, the President of Baseball Operations, his GM, the player himself, his parents, Assistant GM Carlos and yes Rocco too.
