    Miranda 0-4 with zero strikeouts, reached on a fielder's choice and scored. This looks like more weak contact, he has lost the zone.

    When the big club's got you down after a tough loss, it's always good to look to the future. With all the recent graduations and more coming this year, this list I looking a little thinner to me. That makes our sweet top five draft status and potential compensation picks all the more important . This front office has a prime opportunity for a huge reload.

    I think the author thought the more important info was his age relative to his competition, which was clearly stated. A simple search would provide his birthdate.

    Got interrupted there, but I'd like to see the team go with the hot hand. They should make these adjustments quickly, on merit and without playing favorites. So yes I'd look for every opportunity to get the most impact at the plate from the catcher position.

    Vasquez has 82 plate appearances with 12 against leftys. Jeffers is at 36 and 22. So Jeffer's far superior OPS should be tempered slightly. Looking at their career numbers Jeffers has wider platoon splits and Vasquez, while hitting leftys better, is more neutral.

    I love joining in booing the opposing team. It is a way to rally around your team with other fans. The Yankees, the Dirty Sox, yeah baby fun times in the stands. Booing your own team? Now you are just that loud mouthed jerky guy in the stands. I'll admit sometimes it kinda funny, but not sure I want to be that guy.

    His interviews are about as dispassionate as you can get with short answers amounting to, ” I feel fine". Dan Hayes reported that last year the Twins wanted him to be more forthright about how he was feeling, to nip any small problem in the bud. Some of that is just the result of a new training staff that is trying to focus on better communication.

    I don't know if I'd call the Mahle trade a mistake, but as was posted above even though they were in first place, they weren't a contender. CES was the one who really caught my eye with his bat in the minors, so that hurts. Steer and Hajar were two I was watching as well. This does sting and Mahle not being forthcoming with his status hasn't helped.

    The defense was brutal. That was not coaching, that was piss poor execution.

    Paddack himself said he didn't expect to return this year. My guess would be if we see him at all it will be very late in the season or post-season and it will be in the pen.

    Knock on wood, the encouraging aspect of Ober's litany of injuries is that they haven't been arm or shoulder related. Hip, groin etc. If this guy stays healthy I see a really good starter who could keep improving.

    Not sure why people are saying the schedule gets tougher, that stretch with the Astros, Yanks, and both Sox was supposed to be the daunting part. They did leave a little meat on the bone against the Nationals and Marlins, but overall very good. Headrick has been a pleasant surprise and he may slot ahead of the 22 year old SWR as next man up in the rotation. Here's hoping Maeda is back if/when that is necessary. Mahle sure is a guarded dude, hard to know what we get out of him. Man Gray is intense. But man what an artist. This staff is so much more fun to watch than what I'm used to. For years rooting on the 6'6" 1st round pick Gibby to just throw the damn ball and how's about over the plate? Varland is the opposite, no pedigree and just gets after it. We now have 5 starters that I will tune in to watch.

    Well I guess we know what the metronomic recurring complaint complex will include this year. Giving up games with the B lineup and leaving pitchers in too long. At least Rocco mixes it up folks, right? I think Whitey might be at least partially right about Rocco's unpopularity. The most unpopular in Twins history? I don't know but there are some on this forum who have been watching the whole time and may have insight. Ray Miller? Billy Martin? I looked at the threads from last night here and a brief look at the comments at the Strib and the anti-Rocco sentiment is strong. Personally I don't get it, I like him. He is a little quirky compared to most in sports management and has a unique way of describing things. I get a kick out of it. The lineup yesterday was determined by a management team with heavy input from the new training staff. Then it is Rocco's job to answer the mob for these decisions. That's why he gets the big bucks. It's interesting that every year it's the same people deriding management, reacting strongly to each loss, blaming and predicting poor outcomes and then the same people pushing back and preaching moderation of reactions, looking at the big picture, and patience. It's pretty polarized without much crossover. It appears to also be a microcosm of this nation of ours, lol.
