  1. This is finally the pitching staff able to break the streak. That's a big deal. 20 years since a playoff win(?) Hang onto 1st and win a playoff game at all (reasonable) costs - keep Gray and add a bat.
  2. Getting a start is different than setting up a 6 man rotation. Start him out of th AS break against Oakland to give everyone an extra day. He does well, then maybe fit in another start, meanwhile see if we figured out how to hit.
  3. Was going to say the same - what are chances Steer would be struggling with the mistake hunting Twins approach
  4. With a team that didn't hit well last year, Arraez was swapped out for Gallo. Not really surprising results.
  5. Attendance was solid over the Detroit series so I'm assuming changes are minimal as long it people show up and 1st place is within reach
  6. The offensive woes remind me of 2006 where the team rebounded by replacing the corpses of Tony Batista and Juan Castro with Bartlett and Punto. Replace Vazquez and Kepler with Jeffers and Wallner, and see if if there's any spark. Ideally then Miranda comes up to DH, maybe try Buxton in left field as his next step.
  7. Rocco pinch hit for Kirilloff in the first inning after learning it was a left handed tee
  8. Just for fun I think we should trade Kepler to the Yankees and watch him just start peppering their short porch in right.
  9. Buxton, Correa, Miranda need to figure it out by year end or start over.
  10. I praised an 11 year old last night for having a productive at bat and moving 2 guys over. Surely even if you expect Kiriloff to be futile against Sean Manea he seems like the kind of hitter who will still have a professional productive at bat. I don't get it, this is not a watchable product.
  11. I don't think it's a big deal, you pay a ton of money to park your car, buy a ticket and eat a hot dog, then joining a boos chorus to show dissatisfaction for the entertainment shouldn't be controversial. I don't think MN sports fans abuse this.
  12. He and Buxton discussed over lobster dinner, which he ate several times a week
  13. Reminds me of Joe Ryan giving up 10 runs in San Diego last year, hung out to dry for the sake of trying to eat innings. I don't totally disagree with it, but I wonder how pitchers feel about it
  14. Alcantara is among the best, Luzardo is on the upswing. Hard to be concerned. Try again Friday.
  15. Well hopefully they face Pagan less in the 9th this year, that matchup seemed to account for a handful of wins last year
  16. Similar profile to Arraez. Good to have someone else who can handle the bat. Close and late with a runner on 2nd he can PH for Gallo
  17. There will still be a lot of 6th innings to pitch so I'm guessing that's Pagans role
  18. Maybe less Buxton in CF in April/May, until it warms up a bit
