  1. Always love someone who is an expert at spending other people's money. I call mine my wife.
  2. Dude, if you're gonna run with this lead at least throw some names at us.
  3. Pina to Oakland as well.
  4. I agree. Actually, now that the answer is Vasquez, I wouldn't, if the price was right, wouldn't be opposed to retaining Sanchez as a third option / DH. Can never have too many bats.
  5. Well, the name I keep hearing on TD is Omar Narvaez so at least the bar isn't set to high.
  6. I love when folks make such a good case for the other team to trade for a guy that it would appear foolish for us to do so.
  7. Speculation would just move on to the next item on the agenda. Probably both pitching and catching help.
  8. Highly doubt he peaks at 20 plus home runs. MAYBE 10. Yes, he's a very good hitter and won a batting title. He won a batting title with an OPS under .800. That's hard to do. Hell, D.J. LaMahieu won the batting title two years ago, hit only 10 home runs and had an OPS over 1.000. He hits for average. He does that very well. Little power and average defense at multiple positions. I might be a dinosaur in that I still respect batting average as a stat but he's also no Rod Carew or Tony Gwynn. If you can get high end pitching for him, ya gotta consider it.
  9. Kepler's not going to bring much in return. He's likely worth more to us than he is to others. Others don't have to worry about the Larnachs and Kirilloffs of the world being on the IL by Patriots Day.
  10. The other guys are no more in the business of getting fleeced on trades than we are.
  11. Lots of owners are willing to spend money to win it all. Far fewer actually win it all.
  12. We always want the big splash deals and we're always shocked at the price those deals entail. This one would be no different.
  13. He got 11 years, $280 Million from SD. From the beginning I've said offer Correa 8 years, $275 Million. With a two year opt out he might take that and go for another bite at the apple when he's 30 (Boegarts' current age). If in two years one of Lewis, Martin, Lee (or Miller) isn't ready to take over full time at SS it would be time to blow it up anyway.
  14. How many times over the years have we been burned by something the we thought was the exception that was actually a trend or a new reality? Regardless, the guy hit under .210 in total last year. Not somebody I'm betting the mortgage on.
  15. I'd be in. Suspect we'd not be the only ones.
  16. It took Buck 4 years to get on base consistently enough to steal bases.
  17. Not sure which problem bringing in a left handed hitting catcher that hit .205 against right handed pitchers last year solves. The target needs to be Gabriel Moreno. He hits right handed but hits right handers well. Sure he'll cost but the return will be worth it.
  18. What if they're looking for a guy who stays IN the lineup most of the time?
  19. Borderline great is still great. Which means he's better than anyone in a Twins uniform that doesn't wear # 25. I actually don't mind the opt outs--IF one of Lewis, Lee or Martin pans out as a big league SS, Correa opts out and we wish him well.
  20. Moving Polanco to open a spot for Gordon would be a great idea if Gordon could play BETTER than Polanco. Has not yet proven able to do so.
  21. Not that much difference between them but on a team that scored less than 700 runs last year I'm having a hard time getting past Narvaez' .206 batting average last year.
  22. Probably looking at 6 years $195 Million for a guy who probably slots in as the 4th best SP in the AL. We can dream.
  23. If all the guys we have on the horizon pan out it's a smart move. I'm CERTAIN they all will.
