  1. You're right. It's not. In 2019 with Sano in the lineup the Twins scored 939 runs. In 2022 the scored 696. What have they done to add offensive for 2023? Is trading Kepler (likely for pitching and / or prospects) gonna make help the production at 1st base or make the lineup more right handed? I like the current front office and on field coaching staff but sometimes it just feels like their direction come from reading this website.
  2. Kind of funny. Seems like our biggest concerns are first base and right handed bats and yet a right handed hitting first baseman who averaged 42 home runs per 162 games as a Twin from 2019 thru 2021 remains unemployed. Can't make it up.
  3. Can't win post-season games if you're on the golf course.
  4. When / if the young guns arrive there's still gonna be a DH spot available. Sounds like a good landing spot for a guy with defensive concerns. Just sayin
  5. Been thinking / saying the same since we signed Gallo. We scored less than 700 runs without Sano last year. No reason to doubt we could do the same again.
  6. Your last two words are more important than this whole article.
  7. Luckily for Twins fans there is NO chance of a guy like him going elsewhere and ripping it up. Nor any such precedent.
  8. Love all the consternation about the lack of right handed bats while Sano remains unemployed. And we employ a guy like Gallo is worse at all the things folks hated Sano for than Sano was.
  9. Gallo's "recent" offensive struggles? Dude's a .199 career hitter. RECENT?
  10. Actually between Joey & Sano, one's a .234 career hitter and one's a .199 career hitter. Convince me we are rostering the right one.....
  11. Now factor in that Buxton & Taylor will likely never be on the field at the same time and that Gallo may play a bunch of first base.....
  12. I'd say Correa's pretty safe.......... The only thing he's gotta prove over the next 6 years is that he's worthy of 4 more years at a discounted rate.
  13. The most entertaining guy on the team will be working out for scouts in Tampa next week.
  14. Pretty sure they'll deploy ALL of the above strategies to some degree or another--even if AK can go. This regime doesn't seem terribly concerned with continuity in the lineup.
  15. "everyone on the team" haven't tag teamed to play in a combined 234 games over the last two years.
  16. You're obviously not paying attention to what I've been advocating for. I don't want him anywhere near the bullpen in any role. Why save his talents for the 9th OR the 7th when we could be using him in the first 6 making yourself far less likely to be DOWN by 3 runs come the 7th or the 9th?
  17. I wouldn't watch Harry Potter if you paid me and the fact that I'm conversing with one who obviously would concerns me far more than any and all of your complaints about Sano. Bottom line is he is entertaining as hell to watch and like it or not last year was kind of boring without him even with the team contending for 2/3 of the season. But, yeah, sure, running a .199 career hitter out there should liven things up.
  18. Two thoughts: 1: "righty-swinging DH/1B type" = Miguel Sano. B: Not a good sign when Luis Arraez is your only player to get MVP votes.
  19. And if they don't put him out there this year, when? And we're still looking for an ace a year from now and a year beyond that. Actually, I'd be thrilled with 25 starts at 5 innings per start. Especially if it lead to being stretched out more next year. If you need to build his innings up, fine. But you can't do that if you don't start somewhere. And like I've said before, what good is an elite high leverage guy late in the ball game if you still don't have an ace?
  20. Let's not forget that Jaimie Garcia had more wins in one start as a Twin in 2017 than he did in eight as a Yankee.......
  21. None of which invalidates any of my numbers.
