  1. MIGHT be a great opportunity to zig while everyone else zags. Everyone else will be (as always) looking for pitching. We should be focusing on bats. Should be less competition.
  2. You get back to me when Arraez hits 100 RBI. We're halfway thru the season and he's not at 100 if we count this year AND last year. Not holding my breath.
  3. You mean like Carlos Rodon? Or Jacob DeGrom? Justin Verlander do anything for you?
  4. Big difference. Batting champs can finish 13th in MVP voting.
  5. He IS slow, injury prone, position-less and not a run producer.
  6. I didn't. Scanned for about 30 seconds and reevaluated my life choices.
  7. I fear you have Arraez confused with someone else. He finished 13th in the MVP voting. Highly unlikely that he'll finish in top 3 this year either.
  8. Don't sleep on that injury theory just yet. A LOT of us liked the trade. Trust our instincts. Less than half a season is just that--less than half a season.
  9. Arraez won the batting title last year with an OPS below .800. That's hard to do. For reference, D.J. LaMeahieu won the batting title a few years back with only 10 home runs. His OPS was over 1.000. Arraez is over .900 this year. Just makes it sting a little more.
  10. You mean like the "empty" batting title Arraez won last year?
  11. Unless they view Miranda as the future at 3B, NO. And pretty sure they don't.
  12. Who creates an all-time Twins team using fantasy values?
  13. Who knew the offense would be this pathetic? We ALL should have known. What did we do to improve the offense other than trade away the leading hitter in the AL? NOTHING. We did nothing to improve the offense and we're on pace to score almost exactly the same number of runs as we did last year. Why are we surprised?
  14. If only I had all of the comments praising the deal when it happened because they were finally going out and getting a front line starter.
  15. Not sure where you think I said anything about him continuing to play the same way.
  16. WAR, like most analytics, is a made up number that is what it is because someone says it is.
  17. Braves are a superior team because their lineup is scattered with players with heart. Players who produce above and beyond what the "analytics" say they should produce. We don't have that .
  18. How would one go about distinguishing a black hole from the rest of this lineup?
  19. HEART and SOUL. Thank God. Been saying the same thing since the day they cut him loose. No analytic for it. They've never replaced what he does that can't be measured. Joe Ryan was a great return but trading Nelson Cruz a hundred games after dumping Eddie only magnified what we lost when we lost Rosario. You think your comment is gonna get jumped on wait until you hear me mention that this team has not been the same offensively since Miguel Sano left the lineup either. Easily verifiable. Three guys who could carry the team on their shoulders ala Kirby of old. Guys in the current lineup who seemingly can do that? Nobody. You laid out Eddie's numbers above. OUR LFs have the worst OPS in the big league. But maybe I fret too much. Gallo's almost near the Mendoza line. AND he's missed enough games that he's not likely to break the team strikeout record.
