  1. His runs scored and driven in would both be second on the Twins. More fun.
  2. Fun fact: Eddie Rosario would be 3rd on the Twins in home runs.
  3. The flaw in your argument is that the issue is that Taylor is not a good enough hitter to be the every day CF. Which may be true. Perhaps the cure would be to find a better bat to play CF. File the name Nick Senzel away in your roladex.
  4. Could be worse. Most of the writers on here spent the whole fall pleading for us to sign Omar Narvaez.
  5. Meanwhile, Simeon Woods-Richardson...
  6. Dude, let's go a little easy on Solano. He's got FIVE RBI.
  7. advanced analytics are an excellent means of predicting the past
  8. Don't know why folks are so surprised. We scored fewer than 700 runs last year and did nothing to improve the offense. The fact that the offense is not improved is not shocking. Solano STILL stuck on FIVE rbi. On a positive note, Garlick being send across the river.
  9. Berrios solid. Woods-Richardson, not so much. who'dathunkit
  10. We've likewise yearned for a 4th (or maybe even 3rd OF) since dumping Rosario. Sometimes foolish to move a vet without somebody playing him completely off the roster.
  11. A spark looks like a guy who plays with heart and brings stuff to the table that stats and metrics can't measure. We haven't had that since we moved on from Eddie Rosario & Nelson Curz.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Hate to keep harping on the same points over and over again but Eddie Rosario is a perfect example. We moved on from him for nothing to save $8 Million, in part because we had "an overabundance of corner OF talent." First of off, I'm old enough to remember a time when fans of this team would scream and holler about "cheap ownership" getting rid of a proven performer to save $8 Million. Actually we'd have whined about substantially lower savings. And, yes, I know. He's absolutely sucked since he left. All he's managed to do is win a World Series and make a second playoff appearance. Know what else he's done? Outperform most of the collection of stiffs we've put in LF for the last two and a half years prior to Larnach showing a pulse this year. The play in 2021 SHOULD have been to keep him and let somebody play him off the roster. Moves like that are why we've spent the last two years WATCHING the playoffs. Polanco's a great example of the same situation playing itself out in the coming years. Do we move on from him this off season and declare the one of Lewis or Brooks Lee play that spot going forward or do we keep him AND bring up one of the kids and give both playing time until the kid(s?) play him off the roster? Your move Mr. FalVine.
  13. Seems like less than a month ago I was getting roasted on this site for mentioning the fact that we're nearly two years in to the Berrios trade and thus far have ZERO return to show for it. Never an egg timer when you need one.
  14. The Twins biggest competition in this division is the Twins. Starting pitching, hitting and bullpen all need to work in harmony. They don't. End of story.
  15. Say what you want but 5 RBIs in 106 plate appearances describes a lack of production. Yes, opportunity may factor in but to call it something other than a lack of production is foolhardy.
  16. Advanced metrics are an excellent way of predicting the past. FIVE RBI is actual production. Or lack thereof.
  17. Kepler's got the equivalent of a full season in CF over the course of his career and has been solid if not spectacular there. Seems we have a plethora of corner options. Move him over if need be.
  18. I know, right? Hard to imagine where we'd be without Solano's 5 RBI.
  19. I always love the fact that these types of articles always overlook the fact that signing with the Twins in no way shape or form means any given player would do or would have done the same thing here that they did elsewhere. Sure we all want to believe that, probably mostly so we can believe that we are smarter than the actual folks that make the decisions but those thoughts are just not grounded in reality.
  20. Less a matter of most of those guys "struggling" and more a matter of most of them not being all that good at baseball.
  21. Rear view assumes it's behind you, hasn't passed you and is gaining fast.
  22. YOU OR I could be better than a 60 plate appearance season. And as far as Sano's second to last season, Gallo's number were pretty much the same, except Gallo's average was 25 points lower and he struck out 30 more times.
