  1. Ks slightly more is probably not a comp you want to make to the fanbase.
  2. Dude was slightly above average ball player. Shoulda stuck with football.
  3. Just gonna say that using a guy who never hit .300, never hit 30 home runs, never drove in a hundred runs, never had more than 157 hits in a season, was never an all-star and was gifted an MVP as a comp does not inspire confidence.
  4. He's Sano with a better glove and worse bat and I don't care about his glove.
  5. At the end of the day you'd better either win the World Series or be entertaining. 29 teams are NOT gonna win the World Series. Odds would indicate that the local nine is far more likely to be among the 29 that better be entertaining than be the one winning it. For my money, Sano is the most entertaining Twin I've seen with a bat in his hand since Harmon Killebrew. It ain't always going out, but when it does it might land in a different zip code. And, sure, he might be a sub par fielder. However, last I checked, MLB teams are allowed to put a player in the lineup who never has to even pick up a glove.
  6. We don't know what the present incarnation of Sano is. We are drawing conclusions from a 69 plate appearance sample size last year....
  7. Scoring runs and winning ball games is never overrated. And I would say not winning post season games changed what the team did moving forward more than what happened in the regular season did. We've moved on from a lot of guys from the 2019 & 2020 teams. The results have not thus far translated to on-field success. Prove me wrong.
  8. You're right. It's not. In 2019 with Sano in the lineup the Twins scored 939 runs. In 2022 the scored 696. What have they done to add offensive for 2023? Is trading Kepler (likely for pitching and / or prospects) gonna make help the production at 1st base or make the lineup more right handed? I like the current front office and on field coaching staff but sometimes it just feels like their direction come from reading this website.
  9. Kind of funny. Seems like our biggest concerns are first base and right handed bats and yet a right handed hitting first baseman who averaged 42 home runs per 162 games as a Twin from 2019 thru 2021 remains unemployed. Can't make it up.
  10. Can't win post-season games if you're on the golf course.
  11. When / if the young guns arrive there's still gonna be a DH spot available. Sounds like a good landing spot for a guy with defensive concerns. Just sayin
  12. Been thinking / saying the same since we signed Gallo. We scored less than 700 runs without Sano last year. No reason to doubt we could do the same again.
  13. Your last two words are more important than this whole article.
  14. Luckily for Twins fans there is NO chance of a guy like him going elsewhere and ripping it up. Nor any such precedent.
  15. Love all the consternation about the lack of right handed bats while Sano remains unemployed. And we employ a guy like Gallo is worse at all the things folks hated Sano for than Sano was.
  16. Gallo's "recent" offensive struggles? Dude's a .199 career hitter. RECENT?
  17. Actually between Joey & Sano, one's a .234 career hitter and one's a .199 career hitter. Convince me we are rostering the right one.....
  18. Now factor in that Buxton & Taylor will likely never be on the field at the same time and that Gallo may play a bunch of first base.....
  19. I'd say Correa's pretty safe.......... The only thing he's gotta prove over the next 6 years is that he's worthy of 4 more years at a discounted rate.
  20. The most entertaining guy on the team will be working out for scouts in Tampa next week.
  21. Pretty sure they'll deploy ALL of the above strategies to some degree or another--even if AK can go. This regime doesn't seem terribly concerned with continuity in the lineup.
