  1. I hate to say it, but I agree about moving Arraez now while he is the reigning AL batting champ. I sure will miss cheering for him while he is....No, I can't do it. I like watching Arraez hit too much to trade him.
  2. Great article Nick about an amazing saga in Twins' history.
  3. I disagree on signing Bauer. He would be a negative distraction for all.
  4. Nice article. Thanks. However, I'm not convinced Torii belongs in the Hall of Fame.
  5. Absolutely correct. Carlos was producing even when his team-mates were not. He is a fighter.
  6. Hey, I was just joking. :) I am so happy to be a Twins fan today.
  7. I like living in my little town in North Carolina. I was raised here. My friends are here. My siblings and children and grandchildren are all in North Carolina or on the east coast. I enjoy visiting Chapel Hill and Oak Island several times every year. I enjoy North Carolina BBQ. I like the slow pace of a small southern town. It is my "First Choice " of where to live. But I'd move in a New York minute, and live anywhere in the US (even San Franscisco or New York City) for 13 spring, summer and fall months, when half of the time I would be traveling away from home anyway... for 350 million dollars. I'd spend a lot of that 350 million dollars on plane tickets, large comfortable vehicles and a chauffeur, and a large winter home at some Florida beach location, plus a huge farm in my North Carolina home county, where all my grandchildren and children and in-laws could gather frequently. Taking 350 million dollars does not change the fact that I still love living here in North Carolina. I don't doubt that Correa actually did enjoy living in Minnesota. And now Correa and his family can enjoy Minnesota during the warm seasons and the winter if they wish, and enjoy all Minnesota has to offer, plus $200,000,000. This is truly "Minnesota nice".
  8. Just say the following: "I think I can, I think I can."
  9. Oh please... don't even go there. Do not even think in these terms. Not now. Not today. Let's just bask in the limelight of this magnificent Twins achievement for today.
  10. This is great news. If I were a pitcher, I would want to pitch on a team which has a Platinum Glove CF and a Platinum Glove SS. And an experienced catcher who has a reputation for being good with the pitching staff. And a young super stud closer.
  11. Doc, You just made the correct diagnosis. I contend that the conservative treatment is to go with the young guys and see who can do the best job. This conservative treatment will be best for the patient in the short term and in the long term. I'm OK not spending the money on Sale. Sincerely, tarheeltwinsfan, M.D. (Money Doctor)
  12. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !
  13. Fool me once , shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
  14. Minnesota is attractive enough to Louie Varland and SWR and Dobber and Ober and Winder...and they are hungry, as are all inexpensive pitchers in the Twins minor league system. And that is the point of this article.
  15. Why back off of the 10 year, $285 million offer? Why would the Twins do that if they really are convinced the 10 year/$285 offer was fair a month ago and if the Twins have no new medical info to consider? Seems like a poor way to negotiate by the Twins. It is difficult to lower an offer "for no reason" and expect the player to jump, all over it. It would leave a bad taste in the player's mouth if that is the case.
  16. I agree with this proposal. The young guys need the experience and can only get it by playing. That is why I disliked the Gallo signing so much. It wasted $11,000,000 but more than that, it delayed the answer to the BIG QUESTION, which is, "Who among the young players will succeed and what is the ceiling for each of them?"
  17. How much would it cost the Twins to sign Cutch? Who would lose playing time if Cutch were signed? These 2 key questions need to be answered first.
  18. Well said Alex. Thank you. I needed that.
  19. Steven, this will be fun for us TD folks to follow as you visit these various places. May I suggest that you record the best thing you buy to eat at each ballpark and then have a rating system of the various ballpark foods (i.e. best hotdog - Fenway Frank; Best seafood - crab cake sandwich at Oriole park; Best Pike on a stick - oh never mind...you get the idea).
  20. That is a risky decision. Moving Duran to a starting pitcher is like what Woody Hayes said about a throwing a forward pass. "One of three things can happen, and two of them are bad."
  21. What do you call an elephant who doesn't make a difference? An irrelephant.
