  1. I loved it. I especially enjoy seeing our hometown slugger lead the way. Not sure how to judge varland.
  2. They can DFA farmer, they can even DFA Martin and certainly Dobnak. They can DFA a lot of players when I look at the actual 40 man roster 40 man according to MLB.com add Okert, Richards, Paddock and Winder. Adjusting the 40 man is the least of our problems. And I expect a lot of reactions to my list.
  3. How great to see Hall, Lewis, and Matthews all pitch strong games. I feel like Winokur is going to climb the prospect list some more this year.
  4. Absolutely not - both Martin and Farmer have worse lines than the figures you have for Lee's downtime. He is our future. Let him figure things out at the plate. Farmer and Martin have much more experience but cannot do what Lee does and do not hit as well. Why would we want Farmer back? Why do we like Martin so much?
  5. I see this list as just the beginning. How about Varland stepping up now? Can Wallner keep destroying baseballs? Can Kepler have a second half like last year? Can Duran become the best closer again? Can we have a good Thielbar again? Is there another RP we can put in the BP (not the guy we traded for)? Can Lewis stay healthy, can Buxton stay healthy, can Correa get healthy? Can Lee take the next step and show why he is rated so high? Will Lopez be a number 1 or number 3 SP? Will Ober keep up his pitching and move to number one or fade as the season progresses? Can Varland, Zebby, Festa, Richardson give us the starts we need to finish the season? Will Rocco stop using Margot as a PH? Can Larnach continue his MLB rise in production? Can Miranda recover from the HBP recovery - the same thing that ruined Mauer and Morneau? Can Castro stay an all-star? Can Margot, Santana, Vasquez continue to produce or will they revert to what they were to start the season? Will the BP suffer from overuse?
  6. It isn't that we lost, it is the fact that our BP was exposed again and that we lost 2 of 3 to a bad cubs team. Busch looks like a MN that we should have. Richards looks like a RP we should not have. Did anyone look at his era when we traded for him?
  7. He has scored 34 runs - 150 ABs - how many PR appearances? _0.3 WAR, 233 average for a non powerhitter. Okay, it is fun to play with numbers but SSS really applies and this article has not made Martin a valuable piece. In fact, I hope he can be surpassed next year and that we start to see others move into his position. I don't dislike him, I just think we have projected him for more than his value and this article is an example.
  8. Wait and see - too many projections go wrong. I want him to succeed, but I also wanted Dobnak to succeed. And a few more that the Twins added and DFA'd
  9. So long Randy, been good to know you, but we've got to be moving along.
  10. So far he is better at staying healthy. I really want to see a full year of Lewis - he is really special, but so is Witt.
  11. Who cares about FIP - you win and lose depending on how many runs you score and how many the other team scores - real scores. The Royals went out and got two more RP. Good for them. I do not root for them or want them to beat out the Twins, but I do want to acknowledge what they are accomplishing.
  12. I'm delighted to see this list at various levels. Dobnak is not available option for a team that wants to be in the playoffs. Okert has shown me nothing this year and would be an easy cut. We have to hope that they can bring some new arms up. Weather is converting a starter or going with one of our relief pitchers that are in the minors. I fear burning out the bullpen and they are essential to postseason.
  13. Games like this are why I don't consider Lopez to be an ace. Right now Ober is doing our Ace act. And poor Dobnak is filling a space, but doesn't belong here. Story and a good guy. Lewis is outstanding and I just wish we could get a full year of him to see what he could really do. We know we're going to lose so it isn't the end of the world, just would be nice to see our number one pitcher show a little more.
  14. Not my definition of an Ace. I look at who comes in and rises to the occasion - the pitcher like Morris who will demand the ball and fight through every situation. All the rest of the statistical stuff is fun, but does not do it for me. Who will the team (not just the manager) look to for the big outs and the ability to carry the team.
  15. I love the KC team - they have a balance of pitching, hitting and defense that is really outstanding. And Bobby Witt is really living up to his prospect projections. Our team looks so much better because we are so familiar with all of them.
  16. His prolonged slump was the best thing that Vasquez could hope for or he might not have gotten the ABs to break out of his own slump.
  17. So long Randy, been nice to know you, but we've got to be moving along!. Stautmont gone, a new mediocre arm arrives and we will soon say good-bye again. The BP is a revolving door.
  18. You are so right. Dobnak here's a funny story and a wonderful guy, but this team needs to be going for the playoffs and beyond.
  19. I have to admit that I really do not know #2 and #3. If I look at this list - is it consistent with how we would rank our milb SP overall?
  20. I never know the minor league relievers - thank you for the education.
  21. I love seeing our catcher prospects and wonder how close WInkel is to surpassing Camargo. Is there an MLB future for Chris Williams?
