  1. The concern going forward is Ryan's giving up a HR. That has been an issue and I hope he can keep them in the park. Everyone gives up HRs, but our almost Ace needs to avoid a HR illness going forward- the second half has not been as good as the first and hopefully he is feeling stronger this year.
  2. I always enjoy these summaries but I have two questions for Seth - first why isn't Keirsey a prospect? Why haven't they given him a day in the majors? (those combine for my first question). Second with all the various pitchers and levels I would like to know how you would rank the top ten minor league pitchers in our system.
  3. It is exciting to have a MN player from MN doing what he is doing - shades of Killebrew

  5. I cannot buy the small town Twins versus the big city Mets argument. We have the sixteenth largest metro area in the US and we have one rich owner. We choose what we want to be and the deadline says we want to play and pay just enough to be interesting. So I will continue to be interested in prospects.
  6. This was so anticlimactic that the only good thing that came out of it was your first paragraph - after that it was back to so what. How does Richards rank with Jackson, Staumont, Okert, and all the other amazing BP pickups?
  7. Keep trying there is nothing here to excite and Headrick is such a reach for a team looking to go into the playoffs.
  8. This is our team. It's got us this far and I think could catch the guardians but if not it's as good as we're going to have. Based on the quality of the relief picture they treated for, I think what we have is as good as can be and we can forget about acquiring players that might cost us anything.
  9. Well there is not much to write home about. I am on the snake river and we had a fire come right down to the waters edge - smoke filled the sky, planes were flying in and grabbing water. More excitement than the Twins provided. Let's hope the fire is out and the Twins play like contenders tomorrow.
  10. Wallner should have been up earlier. Players come up, adjust, then the league adjusts and the second level of adjustment for the young player takes longer. I see Lee in this situation and I hope we let him play through the adjustment. Julien is the one who seems to be having the most difficulty making the second transition. The BP was once speculated to the one of the best in MLB. How times change. We need Duran to make it back to the pinnacle he has been on. Okert and Thielbar need to be replaced - this is no longer a SSS. Varland seems to be dropping on the SP list and I love the idea of putting him back in the pen. A young live arm succeeding in the BP for the next few years is more appealing to me than the old vet - Okert, Jackson...
  11. I agree and would have pointed out the same thing, but you beat me to it. Varland and Julien are both losing their luster as other players are rising.
  12. The Polhads wealth did not come from baseball. While I want the best team we can get I think that the policy I would follow would be to develop the rich lode of talent we have and be ready to loosen the purse string through extensions like they did for Pablo. Sure I wish we would spend like Steinbrenner did, but that does not follow their personalities and yet we have a really good and competitive team. Develop our own starters and don't sacrifice the future for unknown and short term results.
  13. I am not ready to make a big move. I am impressed by the next layers of SP and am content to ride with what we have. I am especially not interested in a rental and I know they lean that way. We lose prospect potential and have the same debate next year. If we were interested in a guy like Snell we should have resigned Gray.
  14. I could not understand a trade the Detroit would make for this pitcher. It's almost impossible to sign an ace and they have one. Build around them is all I can think.
  15. WPA is another one of the alphabet stats that I really don't pay any attention to. I'm glad it entertains some
  16. Trying to see how bad Margot is I found this article about Stanton who looks like a star PH compared to Margot. Stanton doesn't come close to our PH specialist.
  17. I was searching for the worst pinch hitters in MLB history and found this article - https://www.brewcrewball.com/2012/4/25/2975144/stat-of-the-day-cesar-izturis-and-the-worst-pinch-hitters-ever and guess what Margot is worse than all of them.
  18. Thanks for the videos. He seems to have such a compact movement that it gives me hope he can avoid the dreaded TJ! I am anxious to see his next steps. For me he is next man up.
  19. I am so happy that Rocco is aware of the PH record that Margot is setting and gave him a chance to extend his streak! Otherwise it was just a great ball game.
  20. I am not concerned about a trade or signing. We have a good team. Just play the games and keep healthy.
  21. There is no real issue there. Miranda, Julien, Martin, Severino, Kiriloff...it is the easiest position to fill.
