  1. After all these years NY is finally getting some revenge for the Giants transfer to SF. Not sure they really won this one.
  2. If he has a physical problem he becomes perfect for the fix any problem Twins!
  3. I am fine with using Farmer to begin. I think Lee will eventually take over and Lewis will be at a different position - those are difficult injuries that have long term repercussions. I think Polanco is a likely trade candidate along with Kepler (and not because of Gallo). Gordon has been written off for SS by the team - a shame, and now the OF is getting too crowded. Sometimes the FO over thinks things.
  4. I suggest we trade Gallo for a RP! Or almost anything. The bottom of the barrel should not be exciting.
  5. I consider Gallo a dumpster dive - somehow the Twins have convinced themselves that they can take flawed players and cure them - the results do not justify their opinion.
  6. Your Gallo statement is just not flying with me, but otherwise I enjoyed this essay even though I don't see enough to save the season.
  7. I really enjoyed what he did last year. He ranked with Arraez and Miranda as a player to root for. I hope he is given a real chance.
  8. Well he is not Nelson Cruz Gallo has 1048 Ks in 8 seasons 752 games (1.4 per game) - - Cruz 1870 in 18 seasons 2006 games - (.93 per game) Lifetime averages - Cruz 274 BA - Gallo 199. This is a comparison I cannot buy into.
  9. To be even more fair - those were 2018 - 19. 4 - 5 years ago. I can't buy into it.
  10. No - that is all I can say. They are not bringing back the juiced ball and if it allows them to trade Arraez and Kepler then we have not only signed a ridiculous contract, but in essence have traded him for much better players.
  11. I am glad you got this out of the way. It was an excellent summary (as usual) and I appreciate your work, but it is not a holiday cheer article and I do not think that it is possible to put this off season in better perspective. I think tickets are going to be easy to obtain this season.
  12. Good article because you capture the angst that so many of us have. Of all the players they could sign - redundant left handed bat and OF is not what we needed or want. I just hope that Falvey and Lavine are reading all of our comments and silently learning this was not the move we wanted. I think Patrick Reusse also captured the frustration with this swing and miss batter - Sano part 2 - but maybe not as good.
  13. I think of the prospects gone and this list is not going to be good replacements. I am glad to see the pitchers with the standard health report of all Twin signing.
  14. I am so old school that I remember the Mendoza line and it was not an honor. Please do not drop the OPS line on us. He stinks.
  15. I need some good news, but this off season has only a catcher to light a fire in fan enthusiasm. Will that work? Trade Urshela and sign Turner - bad rumor, worse if true. We still have time and the FO likes to work last minute so there is hope.
  16. A recent look at the AL central asked if anyone wants to win. The big signings - Benintendi by Sox, Bell by the Guardians. The rest is a joke - including Gallo. So do we stay in the middle - not moving forward, not moving backwards. I just want them to tell us the truth - we are looking at rookies and prospects (trade the vets if that is true) - and let us step back hoping to move forward like the Hrbek/Gaetti days.
  17. Good reflections - Time for fans to stop obsessing over the high end FA and focus on the crappy low enders we sign like Gallo. Let's get a team of good prospects and grow with them.
  18. I am all in on Lee - I was in on Griffey, Soto, Acuna...go for it. While I am still gagging over Gallo, a young dynamic player is just what I hope for.
  19. The White Sox got Benntendi - We lose
  20. We have covered for Sano's absence now that we have and his 79 OPS+ Sorry Joey, but you do not make up for Correa, Rodon, or any other random FA.
  21. Please - this is such terrible news I would rather have the blizzard back. We have not even been without Sano for a year did we really need another bat to stir the air in the stadium. I hate this more than any move this FO has made - bring back Shoemaker and put him in the OF.
  22. The latest rumor is that Falvey and Lavine are going to split time at SS. Who needs to sign a player when so much talent is in the FO?
