  1. At least we got to see Ohtani. Tough conditions for the pitchers. When is Rocco's scheduled day off?
  2. Having had knee surgery multiple times and knee replacement I am not that hopeful. I wish him luck and good health.
  3. I watched the Yankee game last night hoping to see Judge crush one, but what stood out was that their starter went deep, they stole bases and ran with purpose, and finally their defense was superb. It is playing all around good baseball and it is a pleasure to see. I would like Rocco to listen to the announcers from this game who complimented the Yankees for using speed and relying on more than the HR.
  4. I would say our starting pitchers have the most to prove. I like the article and I think Celestino will improve - we brought him up early and he is still at an age where he could be in the minors. He will do well. Jeffers is a puzzle, after his rookie year I expected more. Catcher is going to be a difficult position to judge and he has to take it over and improve on the last two years. Arraez has disappointed with his entire second half. He was my favorite player, but he has fallen in my estimation - was it his early power hitting? Did he start swinging for the fences instead of hits? I have to admit I am not rooting for Arraez - I want Judge to get the triple crown - it would truly be historic! To the pitchers - Varland, Winder, Ober, Sands, have to rise and take over in the rotation and the bullpen. We need Moran to show he can stick.
  5. I have discovered that Kleenex has secretly bought into the Minnesota teams - they began with the Timberwolves and now expanded as their sales of tissues for the weeping fans. Some people suffer the SAD (seasonal Affect Disorder) in November and December, Twins and Vikings fans don't wait that long, their seasons cause suffering in September and lead us into the darkness ahead.
  6. Nice to have one team that has meaningful games. Randy Dobnak better invest his earnings from the current contract because he look less and less likely to impact the major league team again. He had his moment in the sun and it was fun, but I do not expect anything else. Cole Sands is definitely being groomed as a reliever. It appears that Wichita has a lot of players to move up after the season - who gets removed?
  7. It is beyond commenting. From Rest days to station to station baserunning on a team that cannot hit with RISP. From managing SP to sticking with ineffective RP. A season gets long when all the wins come in May. It is hard to watch the Sox play lousy all year and then pass us with ease as the season winds down. It is about folding against good teams, but also lacking the pride to win against KC after blowing the Cleveland series. It is about all those coaches, but no one taking responsibility. What has our hitting, pitching, bench coaches done? Just lots of questions, but no answers.
  8. Balazovic has really disappointed. Has he dropped out of the top 20?
  9. Even KC can't patch up the punctured balloon that we rode into September. Best news - Wallner! I know many thought he would be another Sano, but his bat control is much better. No more Archer and Bundy - let's look at potentials instead.
  10. He is better than Gallo - he can hit doubles and singles too. So the answer to your question is yes, but why stop there.
  11. Wait a minute - What happened to the KC aspirin? They are supposed to cure out headache and bring joy to the Twin Fans. Why do we start Bundy - Big deal - he is a starter not a RP - two innings! Let's start pitchers who might be with us next year - I do not want or expect Bundy and Archer to be here so their time on the mound is a wasted opportunity to see a young player who might be.
  12. I am always in favor of promotions - the veterans we are bringing back or getting back do not give me the confidence I would like so find out who has the arm to get the job done.
  13. No more woe is me! The question is - what has the reload done to prepare us for 2023? Can we count on our injured to return and not be injured? Will Maeda, Mahle, and Paddock return as quality starters? Who catches and are they any good? Who takes Correa's place - Palacio? Is he really good enough? Are Kiriloff, Larnach, and Lewis going from injured prospect to production? Can this coaching staff take them where they want to go? Do we have a BP to cover all the innings that Rocco wants? Will Pagan and Lopez rise or sink, Will Duran continue his dominance? Can Alcala return as a high leverage reliever? Have we over used Jax? Can Thielbar continue? Who plays 1B? Arraez, Miranda, Kiriloff? Where does Sano go? Who do we trade and for whom? Who do we sign with Correa money? What prospect is ready to rise from the minors?
  14. Am I the only Twins fan rooting for Judge to get the triple crown?
  15. And this is the exciting news we have waited all year to read? If we get the best choice we will trade it so what is the real value?
  16. Come on KC - make us feel good again, make us think we are better than we are. It is easy, because we want to be fooled.
  17. I hope we do not see him next year. He has had 1/2 year of success in his career - don't look for more.
  18. Lee will be AAA next year and knocking on the door if this year has any meaning. What a great start.
  19. Nice game - we needed this - it does not put us back in the race - but it does allow us hope and pride. Ryan has really stepped up and has the potential to continue to be better. Wallner was expected to be Sano #2, but he is a much better hitter and willing to get singles to go with his HRs.
  20. But they like their manager! At least that is what I read in a TD essay
  21. A sad day - the Twins raised hopes against KC (who doesn't), but could not carry that success to a team that is above 500 or in first place. Big Hat posted How about teams in first place? I am too exhausted to look it up, but I know it is horrible. We are not ready for the playoffs, but hopefully our young players will have experience that will give us a better push next year. Like Bighat I think we could have used Steer. We have to hope Mahle can get over his arm issues because we really need pitching. I think Winder, Ober, Ryan, Gray will be good, if Mahle and Maeda come back and flash skill the rotation will be the best we have had in years. I know there is still games left, but with 16 games and a seven game deficit it means we have to have a 14 game winning streak to be close.
  22. This is great if we are going to start a frisbee league. Otherwise I like wins, innings, era...
